Hmmm... May konting difference pa din siguro. Though current technology has made A/T trannies much better and more efficient nowadays.

Of course, if ur stuck in traffic and are shifted to D, then mas makonsumo talaga.

In traffic I'm getting 7Km/L. Pero iba na siguro ngayon na masama na ang traffic. Mabigat kasi ang GS, more than 2 tons unloaded afaik. Maganda na yun FE considering the weight. Much better than Ford E150 which is around the same price range.

Sabi nila yung 5w-30 mas matipid daw kesa 40 weight, nakakaalangan lang gumamit ng 30 weight na oil baka mabilis masyado numipis, tumaas ang wear.

For hotter engines like the GS's, I believe the thicker 40 weight is ideal.

I'd probably stay away from the 0w-30 as it is too thin. And just in case there are offers, the '50' weight is probably too thick as well.

Even the manual indicates it for very cold weather countries only.

    Hmmm... Good question.

Wiki only lists the Starex to have 2 generations: (Hyundai Starex - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
    - First Gen 1997-2007
    - Second Gen (GS) 2007 - onwards.

Makes sense somehow, coz the first to third generations did share the same body and parts.

If this is the case, it could be at least another 3 years in the making.

Wiki is not reliable. Baka taga saang lupalop lang nag-upload ng info sa wiki at dun sa isla/bundok/oasis nila e 2 modelo pa lang ng starex ang nakarating.

Kung sabagay. Locally there are 4 generations of Starexes, right, GS being the 4th. The SVX (2-3 years, 1997 to 2000?), the Millenium (3 years, 2000-2003), the GRX (4-5 years, 2004-2008) and the GS (2008-?). The GRX had 2 iterations, both with the big eyes, but with a different grille. At 6 years running, the GS is the longest running generation.

Could GS be the last generation?

I don't think so. Although it would be quite hard to top.

The GS needed to have its oil changed having reached 5000 kms.

I'm trying out PTT fully synthetic.

Yeah the GS is grey market. No real warranty from the dealer so maintenance is up to me. The oil I got for the equivalent of P1,600. I got it from overseas. I had to buy an extra 1 litre bottle since the 6 litres wasn't enough. I can't say it runs quieter with the oil but then it's still relatively new.
