kaya ako basta diesel ever since lumabas ang euro4 di na ako nagfi-fill up ng euro2. the worst of the big 3 is petron diesel (mausok) followed by shell (low power, mabilis maubos). pag walang-wala na talaga naghahanap ako ng caltex. even now that petron say they are euro4 medyo mausok pa din ang regular diesel nila. yung dieselMax ok lang kaso mahal naman.

I think uusok pa rin talaga at load bro. I wonder how the early examples of GS with Euro 5 engines are doing.

GS had low power going uphill so I had the egr cleaned yesterday. Sobrang barado na. Egr tube, valve and intake manifold were all gunked up. So was the cat converter. 4 years of Euro 2 fuel and mostly city driving was really bad for the egr. I didn't have it blanked as it still had Hancars "warranty". It now runs like new.

Next up will be the intercooler.
Iba daw kasi engine

afaik need pa din boss. hiwalay function nun. yung egr recirculates the exhaust back to the intake manifold to lower engine combustion temp which in turn lowers NOx production. yung dpf nasa exhaust pipe mismo, it catches the sulfur soot from the exhaust. nagre-regenerate siya, burning the soot by injecting diesel into the dpf. yung dpf is positioned after the egr inlet e.

Forgot to mention sa casa ginawa yung egr cleaning, went back to Hyundai Cainta. No choice, sila lang kasi malapit sa amin. They did mention the Euro 5 engines's egr layout was easier to clean. We did the catalytic converter and exhaust cleaning at home. Ganda ng takbo after.

Kelangan pa din linisin sir if you haven't blanked it. Specially if it spent a lot of kms on Euro 2 fuel we had prior to this year. DPF simply catches all the soot so it doesn't go out the tail pipe. It is downstream of the egr. Will get back to you re: brake pads. I'm testing a new set right now. We also replaced the front rotors last week.

57 Tkms na din natakbo sir, also mahina talaga parts ng Hyundai compared to Japanese makes. We also had a Tucson before, replaced front and rear rotors at 45 Tkms. Pwede pa naman gamitin yung rotors pero lampas na sa recommended wear limit which is 2mm. Mahina na kumagat.

Try mo munang papalitan yung A/C filter.

Agree that mabilis magbara AC cabin filter.

I thought of getting Brembo or DBA rotors para mas tumagal but the current state of BOC is scaring me from bringing anything in. They're replacing declared value with the highest online srp of items they can find.

Ok pa naman brakes kahit over wear limit na yung rotors, hirap lang sa long drive na pababa or twisties, nagfafade na sya. 20Tkms I think too early to reface but you never know, stock rotors are like butter. Dami ka bang long drive/uphill-downhill trips?

Siguro nga bro.,- before it hit 20KKm,- apat na biyahe sa Baguio; 2 sa Quezon Province via the mountain road of Atimonan; at isa sa Bicol... Our ride is now 35KKm and I don't do long drives as I used to before, because of our kids' school schedule/assignments ...

Siguro, next time when you travel,- you buy those stuffs and bring them in na lang.....

Agree with automatic transmissions being hard on your front brakes. Thankfully, nakukuha pa sa brake pad replacement.

Come to think of it, need to check na din pala.

Same with me bro. Ours is already 35kkm and so should be at 40kkm...

Any difference in usage rate between the OEM and the Hyundai pads bought from Goodyear? What I have now does not produce brake dusts....

I used to take that Atimonan route to Naga. Wala kasing trucks masyado. Same as you din, I don't drive on long trips anymore, pagod na haha.

Wish I could bring in some rotors, hirap lang, mabigat. Maybe 8-9 kg/pc?

Yep. Doesn't help that the GS weighs 2 tons+.
