Yeah, I think I've seen this mod you made. Hehehe! Am planning to install an additional socket. Where'd you tap this Doc?
Actually about the other socket in front, I'm not sure if it's working or not. I literally have to pry the cover open coz I can't do it with just the grip from my fingers. Mamaya siguro. Hehehe!
Hehehe! Tire pumps and automotive vacuum cleaners at that.
For me naman, reason I've been asking about sockets is because of cellphone chargers and possibly a media player.
- When the kids were younger and what they wanted to watch were just in DVDs, I could keep them entertained and charge my phone by plugging it in the HU's USB connector for the iPod.
- Now that they've had enough of what's in the DVDs (or just watch it occasionally), they're relying on what I have in a thumbdrive connected to the USB, relegating my phone charging duties to the lighter socket and another wire for it.
- In comes the media player. This would free up the HU's USB socket, but I need a dedicated socket for the inverter. Where to tap?
Grabe, nakakatuwa yung service ng Hyundai.
Asked our driver to ask the CASA how to access the engine number on the Starex.
Bawal daw sabihin kasi they charge stenciling as a service (ngayon 2k na raw - wow, paiba iba yung rate!). Location of the engine stencil point is now being sold as part of a service? :/
Reminds me why the non-italicized H and the big T are my go to brands I guess.
Hyundai may have cheaper/quality vehicles but the service sucks big time.
Sa Hari dealerships lang yan malamang. Anyone tried hancars or pitstop?
Asked our driver to go drop by any local LTO to see if the stencil boys can help us. Pero baka in the coming days pa.
At this rate, looks like this is the last Hyundai I we will own for a while. Dealing with the HARI casas have been nothing but a source of irritation so far.
2 relatives din have their fair share of frustrations with HARI casas so I guess hindi lang talaga ako yun.
Anyway back to the GS discussions!
*IMM / yebo - the lighter socket is indeed a Honda. This is the exact one sa FD Civic namin. You can probably call the Casa to inquire on the price before asking the alternative suppliers.

Yung mga naka 2013 starex KDM galing hancars, I noticed yung HU, mabilis ang andar ng clock... Kahit ano ang reset ko, laging advance.
Guys, help again with my GS starex. I had my reputable mechanic check my starex for the problem I mentioned above (turbo lag). Anyway, he cleaned the intake manifold and the EGR. Sobra daw dumi. We took it out SLEX today and the turbo lag still occurs. What do you think we should do next?
My mechanic told me that the next step should be to open the turbo and check. It is also possible that the actuator is dirty or broken.
Ayoko muna dalhin sa CASA dahil hindi na covered ng warranty because I did not have it serviced there. They might me charge me an arm and a leg again.
Any feedbacks? Thanks guys.
sir the best.. why dont you try taking it to Berrima diesel.. just search google for thier address. its a very reputable australian company..
*IMm29: Dito ako nagtap:
Kailangan kayang maghandle ng high wattage yung power source. Initially I planned to tap directly from the battery (with an inline fuse of course) pero when I saw this connection sa fuse box, dito na lang ako nagtap.
*CVT: Yup, very convenient siya for air pumps. Ako naman ang habol ko diyan sa rear accessory power socket ay para sa electric cooler namin for long trips:
*yebo: Pang-Honda yan sir. Merong forumer sa Honda Club Phils who goes by the handle "spugen" na nagpaparating ng parts from Japan. Sa kanya ako nagpaorder, can't remember the price though kasi 2011 pa ko kumuha sa kanya. Bale 2 piraso yan, yung socket & cap/cover assembly. Here are the part #s for reference: 39624-SZ3-003 (socket), 39620-SNA-003 (cap). HTH.
*ronw123w124: Salamat sir. Through the years natutunan ko rin mag-DIY na a la OEM install. Hehe.
*Disclaimer: I'm no expert in doing these DIY modifications, I'm merely an enthusiast. I simply do these in my free time away from work as a stress reliever. I just observe & ask for tips from professional installers so please exercise due caution if you plan to perform these mods by yourself.
