Hello po. I believe I read an article on a previous TGP mag on this... foul smell from the vents... The resident gearhead explains that this could be caused by fungus(?) growth in the vent system due to moisture/condensation from using the A/C (this might explain the baking soda fix).

The recommendation was to turn the A/C off and let the fan run for about 10 minutes before arriving at your destination. This will allow the moisture to dry up (due to engine heat + blown air) and hopefully reduce the potential growth.

I haven't experienced this but the recommendation sounds reasonable, though please try this a number of times and let us know if it works. It will be good to hear actual feedback on this.

the recommendation is true. i have personally experienced it.

most of the time (when i am in the mood), when driving home, i always turn off the A/C once i enter our street. I just leave the fan running. I do this before to "conserve gas".

then later on, i got tired of doing it routinely, so i only turn off the A/C once i'm already parked. then i noticed that once i start the engine again, there's this foul smell which cannot be masked by the car air freshener.

so my solution was. i took an old "old-fashioned" car air freshener (MY Shaldan), removed the contents and cleaned the insides, the i fill it with chunks of charcoal and put some baking soda. i covered it with a mesh fabric (net-type), then i replaced the plastic cover. it has been inside my car for quite some time and i practice again the turning-off of the A/C whenever i am near my destination.

no more foul odour ever since, and the charcoal-baking soda combination also helps eliminate food-smells (whenever you transport food) and other smells as well.

this issue is not limited to Honda cars.

Drove over to Conventry Square this afternoon and personally saw their work. Met Phillip and the stitching is consistent and double stitched at the seams. I went for the Black German leather, design following the original upholstery + an imprint of the Honda's "H" (about 2.5" sq.) at the center backrest for another hundred extra. Excited to get this already

Headed back south over to Global City to get my tires nitro'ed. I passed by the old road leading to the S&R area and was waiting for the incoming to stop when a rock was kicked off by a jeepney and hit my roof, nearly hit my windshield:seeth:. I didn't get off to check but rushed to get out of that road. I pulled over to Bridgestone and the place was not too busy pero it was already 5:30pm, sarado na daw sabi nung guard (they closed at 5pm). Luckily, the owner -- Mr. Tagle -- was there and told the guard to bring me in :exclaim: 32 in front and 30 at the back, cost me 400 for everything. I took the time to check my roof, fearing a big dent or scratch, but lo and behold wala naman :D.

I would agree with the handling is definitely better and the usual bumps are certainly negligible. Free na daw if the pressure drops and in case I get into an emergency and had to refill the tires with ordinary air, 50 na lang daw the next time I come back.

Highy recommend getting your nitro-fix at Bridgestone, Global City. If you see Mr. Tagle around, do approach and extend my thanks again. Please let him know you got the referral from the owner of the Silverstone Metallic he kindly accommodated earlier today :cheers:

Nitro with continous pressure monitoring using your OWN tire gauge really helps prolong the life of your tires and suspension.

Interesting incident I had a couple of nights ago. While parked outside, I was about to close the mirrors when I noticed the right side was pushed forward, as in palabas yung mirror side. I've already pushed the fold button so hindi ko na nabawi.

The left sidemirror was in a folded position already pero naka-open pa yung right. Kala ko sira na pero the motor continued to fold it into the "proper" folded position. No gear-grinding sound, no stressed motor sounds. More or less continuous yung closing motion. I tried to open the mirrors again, ok na. Parang walang nangyari :D

That's probably one of the scenarios na iniiwasan ko, pero it looks like Honda did their research and found a way not to break the folding mechanism.

Anything similar happened to anyone?

at last, got the ride tinted at lacars solargard superblack for rear & sides and neutral black for the windshield, last week went to big berts for the optiguard paint protection. also upgraded the headlight and did chose osram nightbreaker and polarg superwhite bulb for the parklight.

tint : 5k
optiguard : 4.5K
nightbreaker : 450/pc
polarg : 330/pair (319 at concorde)

Libre din mga refills ko. Just make sure that you do not refill with regular air or the nitro component will just seep out. Malapit lang kasi servitek sa bahay ko kaya convenient for me to refill with them. Overall, sulit sakin ang nitro.

By the way, change you tire caps. Ang kinabit ko yung aluminum na pag sinilip mo sa loob eh may rubber which really makes a tight seal. Lagi nga lang nakukupit kaya may mga extra ako heheh

mga sir question ulit, for 1.3 AT, 'pag paakyat ng baguio or tagaytay gagamitin ba ang D3 or pwede na ung D lang? and if from baguio or tagaytay going back to manila(ung mga pababa), will i use "2" or i'll just use D? Thanks!

paakyat, use D. Pag bitin downshift to D3 or even 2 depending on how steep the climb is. Just use your judgment.

Downhill, use D3 or even 2 to have engine braking. This will save your brakes.
