That's true. Nakakabawas nga ang bypass valve, though if the tube and valve are positioned properly, baka laban pa din sa typhoon kit.

Have you tried the Simota kit? It looks similar to this, position-wise as well, though this one is on a GD:

The Fit is fortunate to have the exhaust at the back of the engine, kaya bawas init and i would assume not as prone to heat soak.

Again, pardon the ignorance. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes (or installs) here. Just an ignorant question.

    Thanks.
IMHO, yung position ng typhoon kit is actually correct, though not much gains unlike CAI ofcourse. yung lugar kase kung saan ang typhoon kit may air passage papunta doon, check your hood, your grill, and dun sa may radiator, makikita mo may daanan talaga ng hangin doon from the grill papunta sa hood, then may nakalagay din sa hood na dadaanan ng hangin papunta sa air intake, stock or typhoon kit, basta yung lugar na yon may pumapasok talagang hangin, this will only happen of course pag nasa highway ka, and ofcourse may init parin nanggagaling sa engine. yung simota naman problem don is kumukuha sya ng mainit na hanging from the radiator itself,,

IMm29, tama si idol Jay, meron parang scoop kasi na plastic yung ilalim ng hood where ang bagsak nito is kung saan naka-pwesto yung intake mismo... and with the "heat shield" and mas malayo sa engine, mas less likely the intake gets hot air

and i think sa lahat ng intake, K&N lang talaga ang naka-pwesto ng ganyan...

in defense sa CAI kelangan completely submerged yung filter bago mag hydrolock, so kahit mabasa sya ok lang. At 1ft of water submerged na siguro yung cone saka palang sya mag hydrolck, in which case pwede mo detach young tube from the mass air sensor to the tube going down to the pipe kung kelangan mo talaga ilusong.

Honestly, I think so too. Hmmmmn. Para ma maximize yung knn typhoon intake, pede kaya palakihan yung scoop na nasa front grill or pa-customize. Tapos, sabay hatid yung cold air from the front grill, then yung sa may hood na daan, derecho sa knn cone. pasensya na, nag-iimagine lang.

Ah i see. So there's some wind re-routing toward the back of the engine bay. Nice. Learned something new today. Thanks!

As to the Simota, true it will get some hotter wind from the radiator, but at least there's no exhaust to think of anymore, what with the engine's design. Would've been nice to get a ram air duct from behind the grille into the filter though.

It does go pretty low, and it's exposed from the underside. At least you are going to be more conscious about wading -- if you really want to, that is -- especially as your fogs go pretty low as well, kaya there's a risk of getting a "fish tank" in the fog lamp housings if you're not careful.

On some other installs, the filter head is hidden behind the bumper and the bumper liner on one side, plus the tube is more vertical such that the cone is likewise vertical although with the head downward. Not sure how much a diff that makes on performance, and on wading capacity though.

But your CAI must make one helluva throaty growl.

The cone itself is under the splash guard to technically inside the front bumper parin. It wont get wet even running in the rain, already tested this. The photo was taken during install so the splash guard is not shown in the photo tho it is covered. If it isn't negated rin ang CAI due to air being heated by the asphalt.

Yung typhoon kasi is more of a SRI. Just ordered mine so i guess i'll find out soon enough which suits me needs more. But for sure iba grwol ng CAI

Gano kaya katagal nila gagawin yun? And pwede ba irequest ko na tanggalin nalang yung limiter? Para masaya.
Ano top speed ng GE nung kakilala mo? Sarap nun walang limiter. :D
