After 10 days on my tank of Petron Xtra Unleaded:

The car is a Honda Jazz 1.3S with manual gearbox, on 16" wheels, driven in the city. It's done "sundo" duty from NAIA-1 and tasted a week of SLEX traffic.

Right now it's run 406 km with just under a quarter tank left. I can smell 13-14 km/L in the books

    Update:
Hindi umabot sa 13, but I still did a respectable 12.34 km/L. A personal best on my 16" wheels so far

    Unit - 07 CRV 2.0 M/T
    fuel consupmtion - 8.5/9 km/li
    fuel - Petron XCS
    mileage - 2,000kms

During the past 4 weeks I noticed that the fuel efficiency meter is not same with the actual measurement of fuel consumption... there is a difference of .6-.8/liter.. Is this normal? last week when I computed the actual fuel consumption, its 9.6per liter but the fuel efficiency meter says 10.5...

But during the first 2 weeks, after the release of my unit...the fuel efficiency meter is the same with my manual computation of fuel consumption.. It started to change on the 3rd week upto now...

i own a civic lxi 98. ive been computing my fd for about 4 months na. basta hindi bumaba ng 13kl per liter ang consumption ko city driving.

maybe you mean "FC" (fule consumption) not "fd"

Mine is 2008 civic 1.8 A/T, doing good with my FC, 10 to 11 km/l, route is QC to Makati.

Quick question: Masama ba sa makina ang nagpapalit ng fuel provider (e.g. Shell and Petron) kada pa-full-tank? Say, dalawang magkasunod na full tank, Petron unleaded. Tapos yung sumunod, Shell unleaded. Cycle yan bale.

    Salamat sa inyong mga opinyon!

Just got a brand new Honda City 1.3A M/T 2 weeks ago...

FC on my first full tank at 10km/l (Pasig-Libis-Ortigas route). 2nd full tank at 14km/l same route plus a trip to Tagaytay. 3rd full tank, same city driving plus a trip in Tagaytay and Tarlac at 17km/l. Hoping to improve my FC more. A very big improvement from my Starex. Saves extra money...

I've got a 98 LXI and been monitoring FC for the last 3 months. I'm now at 15 KM/L consistently. Slowly fixing small problems since I bought her 3 months ago. I'm not sure if I can still squeeze out any more kilometers from her but I just added a performance air filter and am looking forward to the results. I'll send it out soon.

How come people have this strong notion that Honda vehicles are fuel efficient even their sales rep. believes it so. that may be true to smaller dispalcement engines like a 1.3 l but not to 2 lit. and above. We own a 1st gen, 2nd gen, and 3rd gen CRV the former consumes gas like my Ford sportrac at 4.5km/Lit.. while the other two slightly improved its FC due to its VTI engine, it always registers at around 6.5km/lit. A friend of mine has a 2007 Civic 1.8 lit. it consumes 7-8km./lit. so it really doesnt matter what brand you choose in the end they all boils down the same.

I've got to agree, mas tipid M/T kasi A/T ung gamit ko ngayon na feel ko ung difference pag nagpapful tank.

the averaging factor of the meter is what makes the values unreliable..

for example, if you have driven a lot on a highway, you really register higher km/L. unless you reset at your next fuel, a change to city driving would show consumption inclusive of the average registered with highway driving. with that you really can't tell.

same here, G3 MT CRV. sa highway i make 11-14 km/L.
a shift to city driving still shows 10+ km/L for quite a time without resetting the values since hitting the highway....
when i reset purely for city driving i would make an average of 8.2 to 9+ km/L....
quite misleading. even guys from casa admit it.
