AFAIK, the vti and lxi have a little difference lang of 1-2 km/l city driving ... i get 12-14 on my lxi 2000 mixed. we compared dati ng friend ko that has the vti sa papuntang laguna pansol and mas matipid yung vti sa pure highway pero not that big of a difference naman.

Since I bought my FD Civic last year November, I couldn't achieve 10 Km/Li FC. The best FC I got is 7 - 8 Km/Li. Due to the rising fuel prices, I decided to change my driving style from fast and furious to economy mode and the result was great.

I finally got to know my FD Civic 1.8 S A/T very well as it consumed about 10 Liters of Shell Super Unleaded in a 100 Kms. of city driving last week. That's about 10 Km/Li.

Now I know that the key to better fuel economy is to accelerate at a normal pace (don't get your engine too angry & watch your tachometer), limit your speed at most 80 Kph (probably the most efficient speed), remove unecessary weights & regular check-up of air filter, tire pressure, etc.

But sometimes I do get tempted to floor my accelerator whenever there is an urge to race someone on the road.

I don't own any of those mentioned vehicles so I can't give you an accurate comment. However, its safe to say the Civic will be more efficient by 3km/L over the Accord since the Accord has a bigger engine and is heavier. For comparison, my Civic 8th gen (FD body) I get 9.5-10km/L versus my Accord 6th gen I get around 7km/L both are automatic and city driving all the way....

I own a 2001 vtec automatic. 9-10 kms per liter consumption ko sa city driving. Pero pag highway mga 8 km/L lang especially pag hard driving (100-130 kph). 4 gears lang kasi. The new automatic civic is up to 5 gears, di ba? I'm sure mas matipid yun pag highway driving.

I used to own an Optra. 6-7 km/l pag city driving. My full tank usually lasted 3.5 days lang. 60 liters pa tank capacity nya. Super GAStos. Like my honda now, 4 gear automatic lang sya. But unlike honda mas matipid sya sa highway driving (10-12 km/L), kahit hard driving pa.

Hello nga pala sa lahat. I'm a newbie here.

It can get that low it depends on traffic, temperature, load. I get 8.5km/L easily without even being conscious on trying to save fuel. I once did even 12.5km/L when the gas prices were rising back in July

sir tidus1203 matic ba civic fd mo? marunong mag maneho yun kase college days namin naka kia pride cd 5 na yun e, kaya hindi daw totoo na matipid ito sa gas..no matter how he calculates 6-7kms per liter lang daw talaga

Boss, NBI Manila ba sya? Ibig sabihin Manila traffic ang na-e-encounter nya. I think that's the culprit especially if kasabay nya rush hour Manila with lots of traffic lights. My car is City with CVT, average of 13 to 15 kpl within Ortigas-Marikina rounte.

My lowest was 7kpl nung one day na nag Manila ako, na sobrang traffic halos standstill. To think na City na yung dala ko at 7kpl pa rin. So hindi impossible for his FD na nasa range na yun din.

I have a 2008 1.8s MT. Using Petron Unleaded Fuel. I'm getting 11 to 14 km/L combination of city and highway driving. Using A/C all the time.

I once calculated up to 16.2km/L (about 512 kms with 31.5 liters), mostly on highway driving(75% of the time), using A/C all the time, and I'm alone -- no passengers. AND i shift to neutral on some downhill areas. RPM doesn't get past 2K many times. I don't know if this practice would do anything bad, but I did it just once, just to see how much the FC goes.

9-10 km/l city driving. though my route is not that traffic compared to major roads like makati or EDSA. Pero kung regular morning traffic jam i get 7.5-8 km/l...

Hello brothers (and sisters)....got my '08 Civic 1.8 V MT just this month. This is my take on FC: long drive at 90kph to 100kph = 13km/liter, max rpm at 3,000. city driving = 8.29km/liter, max rpm at 2,500. I think I can still do better coz my right foot is still adjusting on the pedals. Sometimes I pressed it hard raising the rpm unnecessarily. Im also adjusting on the breaks so if I can be one with this machine soon, I can still improve on my FC. Happy new year!
