Actually wala naman vibrations or thudding noises when i accelerate. I just noticed the other day that the engine moves whenever the gears shifts to d to n to r ( i just had an atf change so minanipulate ng mechanic iyong shifter sa garahe namin while i was watching). So naisip ko lang baka it's time to change the aforementioned part

You would know if that part was really bad - maingay yan eh the moment you shift the tranny. The engine should really lurch when shifted from P/N to R or any forward gear. The engine mounts should absorb the play so that you don't feel the vibration as much inside the cabin. Yun naman talaga function ng engine supports di ba?

I suggest you have a good look at it first before deciding to change. Basta alam ko nagsisi ako na pinalitan ko yung sa akin. Nag rationalize pa ako nung una na baka makunat na yung goma sa katagalan at may punit pa....

i'm thinking if it's maybe the lower torque mount i should replace first

btw, it's pretty difficult to check the condition of the tranny mount on the 2.0 variant because the engine bay is so cramped. ang laki kasi ng k20 engine kaya it eats up almost more than half the space in there

I just ordered/bought the lower torque mount from the casa ( it's cheaper there compared to my mga suki auto parts store) w/ a measly 5% discount.

The problem is it's currently out-of-stock so they'll have to source it from thailand w/c means it will take 3 weeks to get here

You don't hear this everyday. Yung mura sa Casa. I've also experienced this when I changed the fuel floater if my FD. Mas mura sa Casa kase dun sa surplusan you have to buy the whole assembly including the dang fuel pump.

Even the original engine support, it’s usually cheaper to buy from the dealership.

^ It's not always the case but sometimes some piyesas are really cheaper at the casa.

It actually happens frequently enough that i'm a rather familiar face at the spare parts counter already and so the guys manning their posts there give me discounts and sometimes preference over other clients especially if there are similar overlapping orders like mine

It's prudent naman talaga to asked dealer first sa price ng OEM parts before going out and hunt for replacement/cheaper parts. Kung konti lang ang mahal eh di Obviously sa OEM ka na

Marami kasi assume and presume na mahal sobra sa casa hinde naman nagtatanong ng Price

Yes, call casa first to check pricing and availability. Usually for fast-moving consumable parts, prices are reasonable.

Rare or hi-tech parts, not so much. But again, you should call first before resorting to 3rd party suppliers.

Note yung rear bearings ay kasama yung hub so this assembly is fairly big. Specifiy also if yours has ABS or not as the very early 1.8 V models did not have ABS.

Usually popular yung NTN brand for replacement. Di ko na sure yung price ngayon but I remember it was around P2.5k each a couple of years back. Original will easily cost double. Check Fertes along Roosevelt and LVC Auto Parts along Banawe.

The radiator fan turns only when the engine reaches a certain temperature. The aircon fan turns only when the aircon is on. Di po palagi sabay gumagana yang dalawa. Minsan sabay umiikot, minsan sabay hindi. Minsan naman isa lang ang umiikot depende po sa gamit ng aircon at init ng makina.

if the car has only one fan, then it is always either on, or off.

if the car has two fans, these two fans have separate controllers. as woof says, one is essentially for engine cooling, and the other, for aircon cooling. but sometimes, both might be overriden by the same "brain".

To answer your question, both fans turn on when ac is on. Fan off when ac is off but both fans turn on when the radiator is hot enough even if the ac is not on.

Really? My recollection is that the radiator fan does not spin up together with the AC fan when the engine is still cold and the AC is turned on... I may be wrong though.
