Hello Everyone! Matanong ko lang, would you be able to share why you would not buy this All New Honda Civic? What are the better options on the same price range?
Napa-post ako bigla dito sa tsikot because of this new Civic. I am really considering selling my old Frontier pickup to get one. Eh baka kasi meron palang better option on this price range.
Thank you!![]()
You define your requirements and list down your options before you choose. Now, if the Civic fits the bill, go for it.
For compact cars around 1M to 1.4M, you have a lot of options. See below. You could even get base model CUVs at 1.4M.
Civic (1.8L NA, 1.5L Turbo)
Focus 1.5L turbo (sedan or hatchback)
Mazda3 (1.5L and 2.0L)
Jetta 1.4L turbo (2.0L diesel is 1.5M already)
Altis (1.6L and 2.0L)
Sylphy (1.6L and 1.8L)
Elantra (1.6L and 2.0L)
Forte (sedan, hatchback, coupe)
maybe I just want to have a decision that is somewhat you can say that you used the brain, and not just the heart?
Which has more features? Which do you think would have the highest resale value? Also, maybe I want a car na di na ako makakarinig ng "bakit yan ang binili mo, at hindi nalang ito, blah blah blah?" ahaha
Mazda 3 brah !!!
Take note that the ground clearance of the new Honda Civic is about 145mm or lower ...
Buy a Suzuki Celerio or Toyota Vios if you want people to say you used your brain but vehicle acquisition is usually not about what you need, it's about what you want (as long as you can afford it) ...

How good the features are will depend on how the prospect buyer will use it. The Mazda3 has start-stop technology while the Focus has automated parking assist and active city stop.
Resale value is only important if you intend to dispose the car after a certain period of time. If resale value is such a concern, then limit yourself on models or brands with perceived high resale value. At how much new compacts depreciate nowadays, you will end up with a Toyota Vios or Honda City/Jazz as they keep resale value better than an Altis or Civic.
My advice, choose the car that feels best for you. Test drive your options and get the one that makes you feel good driving it. Don't bother with other people telling you why this, why that. It's your money and you're the one keeping it.![]()
Thoughts on your question on why would i not buy this civic.
RS
* I dont have the budget , might as well buy an SUV
1.8L
* My budget is less than a mil
Thank you all guys! Nakakatakot lang kasi yung Buyer's Remorse.. Ahaha!

It probably just me but I am not impress eith the exterior of the latest civic model. Parang sa CRV it slowly losing its appeal. I used to own a 95 esi and a 97 vtec and it looked so sporty. Again I am only referring to the exterior. I am sure there are more toys from the inside.

I get what you are saying. Ako naman the front end looks and inside is ok yun likod i can seem to get just yet. Pero then again nagkaroon din kami ng 96 Vti nun unang labas di ko maintindihan itsura ng ilaw sa harap parang tadpole. Eventually got used to it stayed with us for 11 trouble free years. 😀

Im also planning on getting the 1.8 e variant in Sept or Oct. pero im thinking na patagalin muna for another 6 mos to a year para maglabasan mga possible problems na nae-encounter ng mga owners sa car nila. i'll prob schedule to have the test drive this weekend. Pansin ko agad pag sakay ko is ang baba ng sasakyan or upuan feeling ko papandak ako tignan sa loob lol and im around 5'7, overall i like the look and malaki ang space nya sa trunk and sa likod. All i have to do right now is test drive and decide.
Also, im just curious may feature yung car na , sorry not sure what its called "Key start- just press the start button on the key fob and the car will start for 10 mins with the air-conditioning on" so does that start the car with aircon and ready to i drive pag sakay mo ? ang pinagawa ng agent saakin is pina pindot nya pa yugn push-start button after we did the auto start thing, it really got me confused akala ko kasi naka start na yung makina and i didnt bother to clarify this with her. And nakasanayan ko na kasi na i wait for the engine to warm up for a few mins before i turn the airconditioning on, i guess wala nang ganung problems dito sa 2016 model. Congrats sa mga owners and future owners, hoping to read more pros- and cons of this model. Thanks!![]()
