I use mineral oil for the Civic because of the shorter intervals (PMS every 3-4 months). PMS costs will be 1.5k higher if synthetic.

CRV only has 11,000 km right now so only had 1 PMS (10,000 km) so far. 4.8k with synthetic oil.

Thanks again, sir. May I ask if your CRV is a diesel? I just want to compare Honda CRV diesel PMS to that of the Isuzu Mux which my brother has.

So far, he has spent 14k pesos or thereabouts for his Mux PMS up to 10,000 kms. If we add the 15,000 km and 20,000 km PMS, he has already spent 35.6k pesos all in all. Every one of his PMS are using mineral oil only, and all performed by the dealer. Isuzu is not as economical as I thought when it comes to PMS.

Dealers usually get you to plunk more money with non essential addons like engine wash or oil additives. Check your brother's breakdown of costs to see what you can opt out of

Knowing my brother, there will be no add on's. And I've seen his latest, the 20,000 km PMS, and saw that it's just the basics which Isuzu insists on changing at 20,000 kms. No engine flush or oil/fuel additives, decarbonizing, etc.

Thanks for the heads up, sir, nevertheless.

For comparison, my 2013 Ranger's 10k PMS was 9.8k (Ford BGC) and 20k PMS was 8k (Ford Makati). Fully synthetic oil.

Just got my car back from a warranty claim - engine support was failing apparently.

Cheap fix though and the turnaround time was just 36 hrs so I'm happy with Honda's service.

    i wonder,
has the replacement support been upgraded, or will it fail prematurely, just like the first?

in my non-honda, a part was slowly failing. when i had casa replace it (out of warranty na, as it was failing sooo slowly) after 3 years, the replacement part is still ok after 9 years.

Seems like an isolated case. Haven't seen anyone with the same problem in the Civic FC Facebook groups nor in the forums.

My Civic has very high mileage (51,000 km) and is driven over a very wide range of road conditions so I expect accelerated wear and tear as well. But so far nothing has broken down aside from this engine mount.

Was this leaking fluid, sir? For non-fluid filled rubber components, a hobo & lasting approach would be to fill the voids w/ PU seal for more solid & direct feel. The drawback would be a slight bump in NVH.

The old Civic FD was also notorious for having weak engine mounts. Same with my Mazda 3 2.0R.

Ok na rin because it's a very straightforward fix. At least it's not an engine or transmission problem which is harder to diagnose and more expensive to fix.

Visually no leaks. It was only when the warranty specialist tore down the parts and tested if they were still within standards did they find that the engine mount needed to be replaced.
