I rarely scrape my Civic. On the other hand, I've scraped our Vios 3 times today alone.

This is despite the Civic having only 130mm ground clearance while the Vios has 145mm. Even compared to my Mazda 3 and Altis before, the Civic scrapes less. I was surprised too since the Civic sits lower than most sedans.

The Civic has shorter overhangs compared to other sedans so you have less scrapes from humps and ramps.

Overhang is a factor on inclines.
You're right, it sits lower than most cars, nakatingala ako mostly when I look at other drivers on my side.

130mm ang Civic but scrapes less than my Vios (145mm), Mazda 3 (155mm), and Altis (145 mm). Overhangs matter more than just ground clearance.

    i have an ancient altis.
and i haven't scraped her yet.
but i have scraped my 1997 sentra more times than i can remember. and always, it was at the body segment between the front and rear tires. never the front or rear overhangs. and yet, it has the same ground clearance spec as the altis'.

Bring it to my barber shop. [emoji23] So far the only cars I've brought there that haven't scraped are the CRV and Ranger. All sedans scrape even if you enter at an angle.

i brought it to mine. they wouldn't accept it.
i don't think yours will, either.

but i don't drive as much as, and, i hazard to guess, as aggressive as, you, either.

and did i tell you how long i've been driving that altis?
i'll give you a clue. i didn't buy it from the dealer.

    heh heh.

I've never scraped a car because of hard driving or when I'm out of town. Laging sa mataas na humps or sa ramp incline.

Best to always slow down, take caution, and approach at an angle especially when fully loaded.

but why does my sentra get scraped, and the altis, not? they both have the same ground clearance.
that was the query in my post.
there must be something more to it, than ground clearance figures.

Yes, suspension travel, spring rate & damping matter.
Obstacle angles/height; ground clearance; bumper & exhaust overhangs/shape/curvature; drive skills are among the variables.

Doc, dapat alam mo ito, di ba required ang physics to be a physician?

many of us went to medicine because it required minimal physics. and little advanced math.
that is why we prefer to call ourselves "doctor" and not "physician".
    heh heh.

Surprisingly I never scraped my Civic as well. Yung City GM ko panay sayad yun sa front bumper and sa mid part ng body pag humps and incline.

Kahit yung Max's sa Kapitolyo it doesn't scrape (1 passenger only sa harap).

And yung parking sa Red Planet Timog di rin sumasyad so far.

Saw this in Civic X FB:
So far here are my concerns
    - Gearbox is ticking again despite replacement
Patay na. Buti di ko pa pinapagalaw sakin, better wait till Honda PH sort this out fully.

I beat my previous fuel economy record after just 2 days - logged 23.1 km/L (23.5 km/L based on full tank method) on my trip back North. [emoji16]

You just have to keep yourself alert while cruising at a painfully slow 75 kph. [emoji23]

Sulit sana sayo yung Honda Sensing, especially the adaptive cruise.

Sana standard na din sa PH yung sensing like sa US.

Imagine lahat ng PH vehicles may AEB, that would greatly reduce kamote accidents.

Your prayers have been answered bro. The 2019 ASEAN Civic will most likely come with Honda Sensing.

Also, seems like the RS will finally get 18" rims which are a big visual upgrade from the small-ish 17s:

I guess my OEM 18s won't look unique anymore lol.

I tried driving at 70 kph this time to see if I can surpass my old record - turns out it's not as efficient as running at 75 kph. Also adds more travel time so really not worth it.

    22.8 km/L at 70 kph cruise control, 23.1 km/L at 75 kph.
