Well, it might be that it's actually a passenger's - not driver's - arm rest.
But it'd have been nice if they came out with a proper one, like the optional arm rest from the previous gen Jazz - see pic below.
By the way, I am just commenting on one aspect of the design, it doesn't mean it's a deal breaker. The deal breaker for me is that the car doesn't come in screaming fuchsia color. ;-)
went to a honda dealer awhile ago...this car can only seat 4 ..the middle rear seat is uncomfortable specially on longdrives..

Mukhang picanto yung rear because of the tail lights.

Its classified as a compact and not a sub compact.

mitsubishi colt can seat 3 medium size adults because the rear seats are flat..yung sa jazz naka umbok yung gitna.not really designed for adults..

Haha Ikaw naman, it's just a way to squeeze more value from one's purchase. =)
With the previous gen Jazz, your butt can occupy both the 60/40 split seats as the cushions are aligned. The new 2014 Jazz made part of the 60 split seat more padded than the other (see pic below) which means the seats are not aligned anymore. An adult seating on the middle seat will have part of his butt floating - pretty uncomfortable.

yes and yes!
actually i think the seat material is partly to blame. it's a bit more sponge-y imo (vs the previous gens). the awkward position of the rear center feels more apparent due to the inconsistent cushioning. well as a consolation, the 2014 now has a center head rest vs the 1st and 2nd gen thai units haha.
well if you're planning to use the rear to regularly seat 3 adults, get ready for an eventual fight. otherwise, kids for sure won't mind.![]()
It's not a matter of how many you can seat, it's how many you can SAFELY seat.
Talaga? Is that Compact positioning only in the Philippines? In other countries, it's still positioned as a sub-compact.
Yup. Am not sure where i read it. Try motioncars.com, autoindustriya or thecarchart.

Well Honda's fooling themselves since noone else considers this to be a compact.
If it's size alone that determines the vehicle's categorization, all subcompacts should be compacts since today's subcompacts are much bigger than the 90s compacts.

^^^ Yes, it's actually size that determines what class a vehicle belongs to. Passenger and cargo volume.
