i agree with both. sadly there will always be those who will destroy honda's image by ricing it out.

Meron sakit ang Honda na some of their models parang me kulang or weird ang design, it defers from generation to generation, but looking at it, it tend to grown on you habang tumatagal nagiging ok na, there is always a potential to any cars design.
But the real appreciation is their commitment to improve the technology within, especially the engine, there is always an improvement to the engine from generation to generation.

I don't think that's the case. Honda and many many car manufacturers participate in SEMA auto convention every year to tap the market for car mods. Even the american car manufacturers are now into it because they were getting left out on attracting younger buyers.

The carmellian red (sp?) was a winner. Looks amazing. The urban titanium, not so much.

What I appreciated the most about it was the seats... it's really more comfortable than my FD. And the features were great, as well. Downside is the price, obviously. At 1.074m you'd really think twice. But since by June (as per her) the Thailand plant would most likely re-open, which would bring the price down to below 1M it would make the Altis run for its money -- 1.6V units, that is.

Sucks that some features would be removed, though.. and one of it may be the ECON button. But the FB Civic, as it is right now, is already a good vehicle. Such a big improvement from my FD, I didn't even know it could show pictures on the instrument cluster. And it had a back-up camera as standard. The SA admitted however that the FD was such a hit that the FB Civic is nothing compared to its sales & popularity. My answer? The FD's sporty, the FB is elegant so it would appeal to a totally different market.
I hope they dont take out the ECON button... I'm waiting for the M/T LX trims... sales reps from two dealerships told me by July or August... anyone here getting the same feedbacks? Its really not that bad looking but i welcome a slight redesign of the rear...

The red and the black are the best colors... but i wish the next batch comes up with a blue like the one they have in Australia(?)... I also have to ask... what about the Chevy Cruze? To those with first hand experience, how does it compare to the 9th or even 8th gen Civics in terms of fuel economy, performance, maintenance etc... sorry for the off-topic...

Well, taste is always subjective. A lot of people say the new civic looks like the city from the rear or even a camry, But is this really a bad thing? I mean, a lot of other car manufacturers draw inspiration from other car brands. Take the chevy cruze and other brands who took inspiration from the BMW. So, does this mean that just because they resemble another car, they will perform like it? There are a lot more to a car than just looks.

How about this side by side rear shot?

What I heard is that the next batch of Civics will no longer be Japan CBU. They will be from Thailand. It will be less expensive than the current one. From what I heard, they will only be taking out the rear camera.

actually its more on C200 mercs ang kamukha ng 9thgen because of the shape ng tailights...ang layo sa bimmer..

sablay naman talaga yung rear..kaya nga

"Honda is accelerating its plans to update the Civic, Automotive News is reporting. Although it's selling pretty well, Honda's redesigned-for-2012 Civic has been panned by critics, tarnishing the brand image of this perennial compact-class benchmark.

Earlier reports suggested that Honda was planning a midcycle refresh sometime in 2013, but Honda officials at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Las Vegas announced that an updated Civic will come out this fall, just 18 months after the new one debuted.

With the 2012 redesign, the Civic got fresh styling, a new specific high-fuel-economy model and, many argue, a cheaper interior and overall feel. It sounds like Honda's update to the Civic will address those faults. Details haven't been released, but Honda has said the changes will be "significant.""

Sablay naman talaga ang rear - this is based on what? Is there an international guidline that was issues as to what an acceptable car rear should look like? Is there a worldwide concensus that rear is "sablay"? I would avoid sweeping statements especially when it's just a personal opinion. As far as the article you posted, not once did ot mention the rear of the car.

knowing honda, it will be cheaper by 50k once thai units are sold lol. asa pa kayo. i agree wit hshadow, i just saw one in front of our condo, ang impression ko nga mukang okey ng bagong facelift ng honda city ngaun, tapos nakita ko sa likod civic pala nyahah

hirap din yun bayad ka ng 1M+ for a car that can be mistaken as honda's entry level sedan.

My 2012 White Civic arrived last Monday and I'm pretty much satisfied with all the cool features. The design has grown on me. I normally drive it alternately with my Red FD and I would instantly miss the added features of the new one. With news of the new Units coming from Thailand in July, I wonder if they will do away with some of the features of the Japan unit.

Contrary to others' views, I actually like the rear of the FB. Sure it doesn't look original, but its simple elegance is what I find interesting.

On the other hand, the front really reminds me of a City. Dumadami na FB sa daan (yes, despite the price, Honda "prestige" again perhaps?) and yet nadidismaya pa rin ako sa front fascia niya. It really lacks character.

well there are lots of ways to modify your car without ricing it out, i could understand if it's a sports car but honda's aren't made that way anymore they've moved on and developed what we call econobox.
