only 11 percent of filipino households have a car (or jeep or van).
majority of teenage sons or daughters have to make do with whatever is available to joyride with.
only a small percentage of households have a choice of what car to ram concrete posts with.

Come on. Please do not insult my intelligence. TOYOTA STARLET nga kinakarera dati and that got a lot of respect. Any car can be raced and a regular car costing millions after mods, meron nga vios cup, pero yung sa mga pa cool na bata that is a STOCK INNOVA na mukhang sa tatay pa niya tinakas.

Sige kampi pa sa mga pa cool na teenagers Bahala kayo dyan.

^Baka hindi pa naranasan. The thrill, the excitement of acceleration, and the torque of a turbocharged diesel engine.. hehe

Yun nga naka motor wlang helmet kung naranasan mo na hinahampas ng hanging ang mukha sa 140kph speed, ansaya ng pakiramdam that you are free driven by a push-rod motor..hehe

I remembered the Kijang or Tamawarw Fx and Revo back in the days we were swapping 2C turbo surplus engine from Japan. Eventually Innova ang pumalit at naka commonrail turbodiesel, then now the detuned 1GD 2.8, anlaki ng power bump from the previous engines

Never had an Innova but, nung college days kahit anong sasakyan basta Complete barkada masaya... our favorite car was my best friends L300. I remember we were on the road and there was this pretty girl walking in the middle of the road, we all opened our windows and yelled excuse me po.. instead of honking the horn. Good times...

Even beyond the straight line speed of 1jz/2jz swapped Kijang Kapsul(Revo) and Kijang Innova(gen 1 Innova) there are some that race more utilitarian vehicles safely if not competitively.Examples are Sabine Schmitz trying to match a Jaguar S-type laptime of the nurburgring in a stock Van or that APV pickup in indonesia duking it out with a FD civic or more recently the Flat nose Hiace rallying in japan.

Heck the toyota revo(well the 4x4 overseas variant) had raced with dealer level support.

I guess what im getting at is that the teens recklessly drove(even when ignoring the legalities and the danger they put the other road users into) their vehicle at a pace they didnt have the road familiarity nor vehicle handling skills to back it up with that they would probably still have crashed even if they were carrying a more appropriate vehicle.

    yespo.
doing repeated video-stopping, the light was clearly red. but i wonder, how fast does it change from green to yellow to red?

and if i have to guess, "alcohol". deranged thinking and slower reflexes.

Traffic flow was "controlled" that day by the enforcers because of the fund raising activity, so the traffic signals were ignored. But money cannot buy class.fb_img_1708127707927.jpg
