that's not a smart thing to do, assuming na 1 lang car nila.

A responsible teenager would know that there is no room to be reckless kung hindi ka nakahiga sa pera. It's just the harsh reality of life. Tapos ngayon hihingi sila ng pang pa opera. If they need donations for hospitalizations, his action is a huge financial blow to the family, babayaran pa nila yung poste ng Smart na tinumba nila. Luma na daw Innova so total wreck na siguro yan. Even if compre, magkano lang pay out?

gets ko ung sinasabi ni Cathy

nagtataka siya why a teenager would think it's cool driving an innova

    it's an uncool car

mahihiya ang teenager to be seen driving an innova

intindihin niyo nalang si Cathy she always sees things from her society's POV

di siya capable of looking at things from other viewpoints

    haha

for the first time in the kid's life,
here's finally something that does his bidding.
he steps on the gas, the vehicle darts forward.
he steps on the brake, the vehicle stops.
he turns the wheel to the left and to the right, and the vehicle does his exact bidding!
of course, it's cool! que innova ba yan, or volkswagen beetle, or kia pride, or lolo camry, or...

I'm just saying masmasaya may sasakyan. Wala kasi may four wheels sa barkada that time.

    back in the 70s,
the barkada immensely enjoyed the classmate's owner type jeep.
kasi, the alternative was JD or MD bus.

yeah who cares if it's an innova

it can be a farm tractor and it will still be fun

it's only in image conscious societies that having the right look is more important than anything else

    i agree.
those who had it handed to them on a silver platter, baka may ikahiya yan, if they had to get off an ancient, low-end motor vehicle, in front of manila hotel.
but i imagine, those who had to toil honest, hard work to get to the higher rungs of the social ladder, they wouldn't bat an eyelash if they got off an owner jeep at the hotel.
    heh heh.

I disagree, mas flashy those who recently acquired money. Hence the ricey vehicles. Anyway, I like old cars. I find the lancer box type super cool. What's important is it's clean and well maintained. But I still stand by my opinion na there is nothing cool about a teenager driving an Innova, nakakatawa kasi inupload pa sa internet, pa cool. And racing an Innova? Seriously? Tapos hihingi donation pang opera? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Tama naman yung pa-cool sila. Ganun naman talaga teenagers. Pero a car is a car kahit Innova pa yan. Wag mo na laitin.

Paano ko nilait Innova? [emoji15] Ang sinasabi ko pa cool sila. And isn't it a FACT that an Innova is a family car slash pang pamilya na sasakyan (dad/mom/kids)? It's an AUV Hindi naman talaga pang binata/dalaga ang Innova. Ano panlalait dun?

Anyway, nevermind. I've said my piece.

Speaking of Owner, I remember during the height of the rivalry between UST & La Salle in the UAAP in the 90s, in one of the championship games, I saw the fans of La Salle unfurled a huge banner taunting the UST crowd saying "Pasakay naman ng Owner" hehe.

in a working class family where they only have 1 car, it's everybody's car

    ganun talaga eh

    i agree.
only 11 percent of filipino households have a car (or jeep or van).
majority of teenage sons or daughters have to make do with whatever is available to joyride with.
only a small percentage of households have a choice of what car to ram concrete posts with.
    heh heh.

    mabait na yan.
    "silver spoon mentality", most probably.

    back in the day,
we were careful where we parked our cars during sporting events, especially if it sported a windshield sticker brandishing our favorite school's colors...
