Of course this is just an artist's impression (based on the new Fiesta), so there is a big chance that it won't look like this.
The 2011MY Focus should go on sale in Europe sometime in late 2010, that means the ASEAN markets will probably get it sometime in 2011.

Hi people
since this is about questions.... my dad is considering the Focus because of the fuel prices. tanong ko lang kung meron na ba ditong nakabili na ng bagong dual clutch? if not.... kung may kilala bang meron.
Worried kasi ako kasi nung nakita ko sa MIAS na parang nasa engine compartment yung fusebox.... di kaya yan delikado since mainit sa pinas? di kaya matutunaw yung ibang components?
Thanks guys for you help.... in advance

Know that big black plastic box that's in the engine bay of every single Japanese car made in the 90's up to the present? Those are also fuseboxes. Bigger fuses, but it's still a fusebox. There's no problem, IMHO, with it being in the engine bay if it's properly insulated.

May 7th, 2009 03:44 PM #14ayoko na gumawa ng thread pero tanong ko lang sa mga experts:
which is cheaper to maintain FOcus 2.0 TDCi or Tucson 2WD CRDi?
1. Sa PMS
2. Spare Parts
3. sa FC.
Calling sir Niky Ghosthunter at sa lahat ng diesel experts and owners of the above mentioned car..wag na po natin pag usapan ang segment or kung anong category sila.. Salamat po sa mga sasagot in advance
thanks

1. PMS no idea. but mura lang ang labor sa Hyundai casa. Oil would be the same type so no really big issue there. Mineral diesel oil is only 120/L (Castrol CRB Turbo).
2. Spare parts, I'm sure mas mura ang Hyundai parts being Korean.
3. FC, i think mas ok ang FC ang Focus kasi may 6th gear at DSG pa. Pero as to what extent, no idea kung ilang ang kms/L ng Focus DSG. Yung Tucson, siguro mga 14-17 if driven normally (5th gear, 1800rpm ~90kmh).
Ang lamang mo sa Focus DSG, sixth gear, dual clutch gearbox.
Ang lamang mo naman sa Tucson, higher clearance at pwede pang harabas.

Don't really know how the cost of maintenance compares. Ford casa prices are similar to the prices of other major manufacturers, and service is good. PMS prices are likely to be exactly the same, or not very different.
As for parts, some Focus parts are expensive, yes, but the supply is good, since the Focus production line is here in the Philippines. There are shops that already deal in Ford parts, as the cars become more numerous, and there's limited parts interchangeability with the Mazda3 (suspension parts) if the need arises. Whether Tucson parts will be cheaper, I don't know... but I doubt you can buy them at your local talyer... and CRDi-specific parts are really, really, REALLY expensive, no matter which manufacturer you're talking about.
Fuel economy, in our testing, both the first generation Focus diesel and the current Focus diesel are more economical than the Tucson. Reasons? 6 gears trumps 4, every time... and take note that the Focus is a smaller, lighter and lower vehicle.
The Tucson is slightly cheaper (but Ford has more promos), has more space (though less space than the Escape, and much, much less space than the current CR-V). It also has better ground clearance, if that's a priority. But the Focus has a much interior and better plastics, a quieter engine, and feels like a more solid (European is a word that gets batted around a lot when discussing the Focus) product. It's also more fun to drive.
Priorities, priorities. It's all up to what you want from your car. But like I always say: Try before you buy. If you can see yourself driving this vehicle for the next three to five years, then, by all means... go for it.

or you can add a little more and get Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4x2 (1.3M).

you can also try Mitsubishi Strada GL (also a five seater and a diesel) for only 855k.
The cheapest but good alternative for a diesel sedan is a Hyundai Accent 690k (650 if you can haggle good). it's powerful and fast - but thrifty. hehee.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
