natumbok mo sir tidus! haha
*pista_ni_jon: no need to keep you planted on the ground. i say, magpakasaya ka at tayong lahat sa alapaap! cos 13km/l FC is great for a car na wala pa 5000 km ang tinakbo! this is good news indeed cos this past few weeks, mejo hinde maganda ang city figures na lumalabas. well traffic is hell lately. especially today! my god! i spent 4 hours sitting in traffic. haay
to all 1.6l ps owners(sport/trend): please do try measuring fc sa pure highway driving para mag-compare notes tayo. am still on cloud nine with the result that i got!![]()

this again raises the question about the concept of "breaking-in". in the age of modern cars significant pa ba talaga ang improvement after this golden period? kasi I read somewhere that most modern cars are already factory broken-in. And yung experience ng friend ko sa ford escape and ford focus nya, hindi din nag-improve ang FC masyado after this period. If ever, I'm really not expecting dramatic improvements in the fiesta's FC after this period either. Sorry guys, for it's size, I'm really expecting more from the FC standpoint. peace
Well you believe what you want to believe, sakin naman for my Yaris 9's and 10's before 5000km and steadily improving naging 11's 12's then now 13's (nasa 14,000km na sya) pero bumagsak uli sa 11's dahil matrapik sobra these past few weeks...
I am confident I can do 12's later...
*dekzee: would modern cars involve the Jazz's and the City's? Because it seems that they would also start lower FC then just improves.
I do hope it will still improve. I'll wait and see, my SA says I am now 4th sa pila, but rather than getting excited and impatient, I want more time to decide.![]()
I had to check every Altis forum to confirm your claim, the Altis averages around 7-9km/L from the 1.6 engines from all the forums I've searched. The average Fiesta figures that have been posted here is 8-10km/L city driving.
Both cars are 1.6 engines, it is likely that both cars will get the same fuel economy from city driving. Like I said the same goes for every other subcompact in the market today.
I do have to agree on the notion that the Fiesta is not groundbreaking in fuel economy the way Ford marketed it the way to be, it is just like any other subcompact.
The reason it gets great fuel economy in other countries is because they have better roads, better handling of traffic congestion, in South Carolina I was never once stuck in traffic for more than 5mins. This is where a DCT shines, not in stop and go traffic for hours.
please help me guys..im a newbie in car usage.i just bought a ford fiesta hatchback 1.4L a month ago..and my full tank (free from ford global city) consumed a total of more or less than 300KMs..i realized it only ran for less than 10KMs per liter (is my computation right?)..then i monitoring it the second time i had my full tank now at 38L.i list down all the places i gone and its reading.but sadly,it has the same outcome..i improved pa nga my driving..first,like running it most of the time without stepping fully in the gas.."tapak-tapak" lng below 100kph..and i drove it in tagaytay last sunday and lastly,i used less my aircon pg hindi nman mainit..just to improve my fuel consumption..pro wla p rin pinagbago..less than a quarter na lng gas ko and 285KMs na total itinakbo..it shows that less than 10KMs tlaga per liter..what shall i do guys?do i need to have it checked by my dealer? or it is normal? thank you guys..ill wait for your kind advises..

Bago pa lang sasakyan mo habang tumatagal iyan at lumapat ng husto ang mga piston niyan titipid din sa gasolina iyan.
I agree with you, jetrone......had my 2010 focus 2.0L TDCi powershift for sometime and my observed fc, city, was only 9kpl.... the only difference I noticed was that the shifting for the focus was more defined even in heavy traffic.....unlike that of the 1.6 2010 fiesta I test drove. I was expecting that since they have the same powershift transmission, shifting for the fiesta would be the same. At any rate the fiesta is a cool vehicle with nice and cool ammenities.
Pictures and quotes from a Malaysian Facebook Fiesta owner-
As Sir Jetrone stated - Fiesta is suited to highway speeds for best FC.
Most city users in Malaysia are getting around 10km/l
On pure highway - 6.2l/100km is 16km/l !!
Quote "FoFi hav better fuel consumption when cruising around 100-120km/h. Clocked 6.2l/100km"
Quote "Ang Ku Ku told me that it still can travel 277km with the fuel available."
Quote "Best fuel consumption ever had! Cruised 348.1km with half a tank!"
The problem we have is crap roads and traffic because of tricycles, jeeps, buses, roadworks etc etc.
Still, if I can get 10km/l combined, and 16km/l on highway....I will be very pleased.
PS "FoFi" is FordFiesta, and "Ang Ku Ku" is the name of his car![]()
Would love to see FoFi FC numbers in Thailand, the thing is I can barely understand their Facebook page.

I also seldom stepped the accelerator when going back to manila because the car was free wheeling. And lastly,i used less my aircon pag hindi nman mainit..just to improve my fuel consumption..pero nothing was changed in my FC. I have now less than a quarter in my gas and 285KMs na total itinakbo..it shows that less than 10KMs talaga per liter..what shall i do guys?do i need to have it checked by my dealer? or it is normal? thank you guys..ill wait for your kind advises..

Let us simplify the issue here:
You traveled a total of "more or less" 300 km. with the free "full" tank from Ford Global City, and you realized that your FC is less than 10 kpl. You are asking now if your computation is right?
1. My answers would be: Yes it is correct that your FC is less than 10 kpl but it is not an accurate computation but an estimate only. Remember, you were not present when the "Full" tank was filled to the brim or "Full" by Ford Global". Also, your 300 km. trip is a very general statement. The 38L therefore should not be used as the basis in computing the FC, as the "full" tank provided by your dealer may not be accurate.
2. Your eco-driving in going to Tagaytay may be a good start, but the increased FC does not mean something is wrong with the car. You cannot use it to compare with that of the driving you did during the initial "full"tank which was made in different routes. As what lamborghinione said, be consistent in your route. Also try to as consistent with day and time (read: traffic), and the gas station pump used, if you really want to have a accurate or comparable FC.
3. Although the remaining quarter of your fuel, with 285 km. trip on it, may still yield less than 10 kpl, but the division appearing in the Fuel Gauge is not equally divided in terms of volume of fuel inside the tank, hence, not accurate again. Get the FC based on the actual kilometers traveled and the actual liters of fuel used.
It is thus too early for you to have your Fiesta checked by your dealer?
FC computation at this time with the Fiesta is like honeymoon period of a newly wed couple. Its either you have to be precise or don't mind at all.
Honestly, my expectations on the Fiesta as to its FC is decreasing. But then, as the saying goes." You cannot have the pie and eat it too,"
Just my 2 cents worth.![]()
*Onatski, I hope to hear from you on any progress on your FC as I will be getting a 1.4 hatch too.
IMHO ang makina ng fiesta gasoline model ay hindi tuned for fuel economy kaya ang consumo ay hindi lalayo sa ibang 1.6L engine ng other brand. Pero kung yung fiesta diesel model econotec ang pag-usapan (which is not yet here in our shore) eh ibang usapan na yon, talagang matipid ang 1.6L tdci engine kasi re-tuned yon for lower power and fuel economy.
In early thread before fiesta launching I already said my preference to wait for this econotec variant. Pero ngayon mukhang mag pang-abot sila ng new accent.. Magugulo na naman ang plano ko for the next car purchase![]()
