    11.8L/100km = 8.4km/L

OT: why not configure your digital fuel economy gauge to display km/L??

oohh... How do you that? Even with the Hyundai cars it displays L/100km.

I think the DCT of the Fiesta only gives all that fuel savings during cruising speeds but during stop and go traffic I feel a CVT is more much economical and comfortable.

I realize now that DCT is not a good idea for economical cars like the Fiesta it is much more suited for high performance cars. I read this old article from autoblog:

A CVT transmission makes sense for a hybrid or small economy car because of its ability to keep engine speed at its most efficient point. DSG transmissions, however, are suited for larger cars that were designed without compromises. A DSG offers automatic shifting that's smoother than any normal automatic could hope to achieve and a manual mode that allows the driver to perform clutchless shifts faster than a human hand. I see both of these technologies carving out their niches in opposite ends of the market, with CVT transmissions appearing in fuel efficient vehicles and DSG transmissions showing up in luxury and high-end sports cars.

OT: well, my lancer ex can have it's display set for L/100km or km/L. Just a matter of looking through the car's manual on how to set it properly.

For the seasoned car owners... reading between the lines, you seem to know that the FC will improve over time (or mileage)... habang break in?

rough estimate, how much FC do you think the Fiesta would have over time?
Generally what you have when you get the car will be what you get over it's lifetime.

I've kept tabs on my 1.8L civic since the day we got it.

FC averages the same. ~8.5KM/L ever since. And I never drive on highways (EDSA hardly counts as one). City driving only.

Not so impressed with the FC numbers of the fiesta in all honesty. I thought it would give better numbers.

Yes Tidus, I will be getting a 1.4 MT hatch. I just thought that, in its remotest possibility, it is the same with my old Mazda.

And yes, there is no issue on gear hunting on my part.

That's not the case with mine... For example my Yaris started with 10's then now its doing 13's and its 16,000km in the clock already...

Not sure the Fiesta can display km/L will have to look around but parang hindi pwede besides I think it was designed for most other countries who use L/100km like Australia...

Mmmmmmm....quite a few US users who are unhappy about the powershift transmission on their Facebook page. Others love it for the fuel consumption!!! -
If there was something you would change about the 2011 Fiesta, what would it be??

eg. 3) Improve the auto trans. I've had to have mine reprogrammed (there's a patch), and reset. Still very jerky and clunky when traveling slowly through parking lots or going up hill.

yun nga eh, akala ko din it would be very good, my old 4afe does ±11 km/L. Kaya waiting for further results rin ako dito sa thread.

Not defending the Fiesta or what, but I just got at my office. Before I got here I fueled up my Yaris. Shocking got 11.57km/L, thats below than the usual 13's that I get... Just in case anyone hasn't notice the traffic has really been bad since December is approaching...

I am still faithful I will eventually get double digits on the Fiesta... Maybe next year...

1.4 MT hatch FC for me is 10.45KM/L.
Regular route: Mindanao Ave thru Katipunan Ave (school run) to Pasig (office) and then some...back to Q.C.

For my other cars, swerte na kung 8KM/L. 6 is more like it
    So vast improvement using FF!

The Civic's CVT is more economical on pure City driving compared to a DCT of the Fiesta. It's only on high speed runs where the Fiesta gains in less FC.

Thumbs up !!! Fair enough. Fiesta's FC may not be as good as the City or the Vios, but, based on the comments here and somewhere else, the Fiesta really performs well. You cannot have the cake and eat it too.

I think the Fiesta will have very similar FC figures to the Honda City and Jazz, they are after all rated the same 28mpg city by the EPA, it's only in highway driving that the Fiesta edges the Hondas.

I wish they just brought the Fiesta(ECOnetic) diesel, I would've waited for that one longer than the current offering.

my turn to post my fc..

wasnt able to go to to the same gasoline station but i filled her up with shell unleaded, and asked the gasboy to "uno." does anybody here do that too? thats when you ask the gasboy to use the first level or speed of the pump. heard that it gives you more gas. did that my first fill up din.

so here are my numbers: 324.3km, 34.67L so thats around 9.35kms/L.. this is pure city driving. qc to manila via qave, rush hour morning, then manila to mandaluyong afternoon rush hour, then manda back to qc, night but still edsa traffic.

i dont drive aggressively, top speeds of 80km/h only during that stretches of commonwealth and edsa at night.

have a 1.4 m/t. happy fiesta indeed.. hehe. but i still hope my fc will even get better after 5k.

Malabo ang ECOnetic dito IMO... A regular diesel perhaps pero yung ECOnetic malabo talaga given our crappy diesel... Pero grabe yung ECOnetic na yun 76.3MPG in the UK that is 32.44km/L!!!!!

We are competitive with the City i-VTEC in terms of FC, but we have more power and torque than them... Talo nga lang tayo sa Vios, but who cares the Vios is like a refrigerator anyway. Boring to look at and even more boring to drive...

parang 8km/l talaga ang average fc ng 1.6l ps sa city driving. highlight ko lang "city driving". kasi mas makikita ang pagkatipid ng ff's dct sa highway driving lang dahil narin sa 6th gear na kasama ng dct.

nangangati kasi ako kanina nung nasa kalahati na nakatutok yung needle ng fuel gauge so i decided to fill her up again with a full tank.

    meter reading: 136km
    full tank: 16.975l

    fc = 8.01 km/l

mas maganda reading ng mga naka 1.4l

sana meron makapagreport dito ng fc na pure highway driving lang. hehe

note: petrol came from same station & same pump
total km reading still below 1k

I've recently downloaded a copy Top Gear Magazine UK, I checked out most of the cars, and the ECOnetic was the most fuel efficient even beating the Prius.

The regular 1.4 diesel gets 67.3 mpg

by the way, the UK uses imperial gallons, which = 4.546L

    ECOnetic - 76.3mpg x 1.609km / 4.546L = 27km/L
    1.4 Diesel - 67.3mpg x 1.609km / 4.546L = 23.8km/L
