    My FC so far -

    Trip____Litres___km/L
    506km - 36.36 - 13.92
    522km - 35.61 - 14.65
    504km - 37.30 - 13.51
    493km - 35.53 - 13.87

Total km so far - 2053km

As you can see, very consistent. Around 80% highway, 20% city.
Fuel consumption for me is "as advertised". Can't ask for anything more.

Sport hatchback 1.6 powershift, 1 month old.

    Fifth tank...

    Trip meter = 328.7
    Fuel = 32.15

    Fuel economy = 10.22km/L

So far my best fuel economy... And as usual city driving...

I don't know if this is the proper thread to ask...but I'm a future fiesta buyer. I don't know if I should go for the 1.4 manual or the 1.6 automatic. I'm after for fuel economy. This is for purely city driving. Is it really safe to assume that the 1.6L variant can only do 8-10km/L for city driving? I drive a civic fd which can do 6-7km/L and also have a civic es which can do 8-9km/L. I want to do better because of the gas prices. Should I just get the 1.4 manual transmission? I drive from Cubao to Lagro everyday, go to Ortigas Center and Makati once in awhile.

    Thanks.

    My first full tank...
    222km * 35L = a very disappointing 6.2km/l
pure city driving at ortigas traffic.

Anyway, I hope it improves after a while...

If it's fuel economy your after (city driving) then the manual would be your best bet. I too stay in your vicinity and drive to makati for work but with the daily traffic we go through, I went for an automatic.

moderate traffic lang naman siguro ang cubao to lagro right? unless tyempo sobra traffic sa commonwealth? If so, I bet you'll get better figures than your civics with a 1.4, with the 1.6 PS maybe still better but not much, maybe 10? depends on traffic condition.

2-3 hours idle???? Why don't you just turn off the engine while waiting...

Yeah, I just stopped at the Hospital the other day for 30 mins in the car park. My daughter was complaining she was hot, so I had to open the AC whilst we idled...you could see the average FC dropping 0.1 every ten mins.

As a side note, when I drive at night...my powershift uses less gas
I don't know if it is because it is colder at night, or because sometimes (rarely) I turn off AC, but there is a noticeable drop in gas consumption. At least I know that having all the lights turned on doesn't effect the FC.

*poundcake, kung purely city driving, maawa ka sa left leg mo, and get the convenience of the automatic. It'll consume 1-2kpl more, but overall, the A/T is still a good deal.

*allanctan, tinalo mo pa yung 6.7 kpl initial FC ko. I bet you've been experiencing really bad gear hunting during that time. Yes, don't worry yet, it'll improve. Malas tayo with our driving conditions. I peaked at 8 kpl, but am now averaging off at about 7.5 kpl.

*GulongGong, think green. Turn off the engine for idling time more than 10 minutes. Wait inside the building na lang, instead of the car. Kung enclosed parking pa yan, you risk having elevated exposure to emissions.

idling with the AC on for long periods also puts undue stress on the AC system as there is no cooling from the forward motion you get when you are driving.
My friend had a "school run" driver who liked to use the ac while waiting for the classes to finish. The ac on his Hyundai finally broke. After the second time it happened...he had to find a new driver.

Dalawa kasi kami ni wifey gumagamit. Medyo ndi pa rin nya makuha yung gear... ako, hataw mode tapos free-wheeling na lang... sana nga magimprove pa sya.

Just went through my first full tank. Was able to get 10km/l with about 62% - city driving and 38% highway. Used SeaOil unleaded.

my daughter is complaining mainit daw

with regards to emission exposure, no problem kasi open area naman.

    Example:
    1. Reset your Trip Meter (yung L/100Km)
    1. Trip meter shows 6.4L/100Km
    2. Go to google.com and search 6.4L/100Km to Km/L

And viola!!! Not sure if accurate.

    6.4 L/100km = 15.62500 kilometers / L

Paki confirm kung tama ang computation.

First of all the fuel computer is not 100% accurate, in my case its 10% off plus/minus... Pero as an estimate ayos na yan... Pero nothing beats manual computation of resetting the trip meter and dividing it with a full tank of gas...

Also you don't need Google, just a calculator will do. To compute L/100km to km/L just divide 100 (the denominator) with the numerator (in your case 6.4L) and you will get km/L...

since we're on topic of trip computers. is there a way to reconfigure it to read km/L instead of L/100km? some cars has options to change the unit of measure so i was wondering if our fiesta has this too para we dont have to constantly divide numbers. mejo nasanay na lang ako na 10L/100km is 10km/L. 5L/100km is 20km/L. pero pag tipong 6.8L/100km ah wala na kelangan na ng calculator haha

ot: also, nabasa niyo ba sa manual kung pano lagyan ng name ang radio presets? like 89.9 showing sa display Magic 89.9. when mine was deliverd kasi, some stations already had names. for consistency sana gusto ko rin lagyan ng pangalan ibang radio stations. kahit nu107.5 to win radio

No there is no way, unfortunately a lot of countries use L/100km and they did not factor us km/L users...

As for the radio its not our radio that makes it display the names of the station, its the station's signal that determines if it gives its name or not... Some radio stations like 89.9 nga and U-radio give their names via the signal but some like 97.1, 101.1 don't...

It will be a trade-off. MT will give you better FC pero pakod sa left leg mo. AT will give better driving comfort but lower FC.

Sanay ka ba magdrive ng MT? It will be just the same but with a far handsome car

I prefer greater control over my vehicle so I went for the 1.4 MT. No regrets here.
