after the warranty ends (3yrs) sa labas na ng casa ang PMS ko minsan sa ford din at follow ko lang yung recommendation PMS / replacement ng ford...i'm sure mag eenjoy ka sa ride ng escape solid sya at stable even at high speed...goodluck

    Guys,

For those with Ford Escapes with 2.3L engines, just want to ask if the platform where your computer box is connected gets corrosion. My 2 year old Escape has corrosion. Casa cleaned it then after 6 months corrosion went back. What do you think is the cause? My concern is the computer box might get corrosion as well.

Nope. Already scheduled an appointment with Ford Alabang.

Hmm, weird... The only other culprit that I could of think of is rat piss? A little funny but I actually encountered this problem before.

Good day mga bro! A relative of mine is considering getting an Escape XLS M/T 4x2. With its current market price of around 200+k to 300+k, it offers much value for money. Yun nga lang yung ibang tanong niya hindi ko masagot since ang amin ay yung XLT A/T 4x4. Kumusta naman ang performance and fuel consumption nito? The 2.0L 4x4 A/T is sluggish and a heavy drinker. But I've oftentimes heard that the M/T is very much different. Any inputs?
Better advise the 2.3 variant nalang sir, the 2.0 variant is not only under powered but is notorious for recurring problems like melting brake light etc.. This is the reason for the early bad reps for escapes. While these issues are already addressed on the 2.3 variants, Baka kasi mapahiya ka Lang sa mga relatives mo pag sila inhabutan. IMHO.

I have a 2006 2.3l xls 4x2 model ford escape. It is very comfortable to drive. It is also very fast, in the highway, i can easily go 120 kph and still give some more. The down side is, i can only average 5 to 6 km/l city driving.

    Hi All!
i will be buying a 2009 XLS 4x2 escape next week which i saw online, i have a scheduled visit of the unit this Friday,

Hope you can offer some advise on what to look at especially on the engine side and what should I check thoroughly.

and by the way, I reside in an area that is flood prone, do you think that the escape can surpass such conditions,

Hope to hear from your expert opinions.

    thank you and God bless.

Gaano ka flood prone? The Escape is a very durable car that can take just about any sort of beating, and in 4x4 trim, extremely difficult terrain. But due to a low positioned air intake, it is a sissy when it comes to fording deep floods, although bumper level should still be OK. If you are dead set on getting one, and your place very flood prone, take comfort in this:

Meron din ba to protection sa ECU flooding like other American Fords. Explorer and expeds daw have water insulation materials around the ECU part kaya kahit lumubog eh tatakbo

Oo, may snorkel yan kaya kinaya ang ganon. I'm not sure kung meron dito, pero kung wala sa Taiwan meron as shown here. Ayun. Yung nagdrive nun ang previous car niya yung invincible 3 door Suzuki Escudo. To the best of my knowledge, it does not have waterproofing for its electronics, kundi hindi sana natirik ang Escape namin. Pero yung Ranger at Everest meron.

Good am sa lhat. My family is planning to buy a 2nd hand family car after christmas so maybe nxt year na. Im being torn in between ford escape and crosswind. this is going to be our very first car. I have made a background check so far sa fc, performance and comfortable ride ng crv, rav4, x-trail and among them ford escape yung medyo mas matimbang sa kin. Kaso ang problema my mother wants to have 7 seater kaya nung nakakita sya ng crosswind yun nman ang bet nya. Upon checking reviews, yes mas matipid ang x-wind and has a 9-10 seating capacity + the fact na diesel sya. I also heard that medyo ma vibrate daw ang xwind at makupad(matagal ma reach ang 100km) na medyo nakakaturn off. Mas matimbang tlaga sa kin ang Escape. I need your help guys as I am really virgin pagdating sa car. Isa pang katanungan if in case Escape ang kukunin ko what would be much fuel efficient yung 2004+ models na may 2.3L engine or the 3L V6 engines? Ty in advance to those who would spend some time answering my curiousity. Hehehehe...

    Magkano ba yung budget mo?

Depends on the person who's gonna spend the money to buy the car. If its the Escape you want, and it suits your needs, then get it. No sense in getting a Crosswind and regretting your choice every time you see an Escape on the road.

If fuel efficiency is of any importance to you, get the 2.3L. Yung 3.0V6 around 5km/L city ang paghigop, yung 2.3L around 7km/L- still not outstanding like the Crosswind's but bearable enough. If majority of your route consists of highway driving though, the V6 may be a good car for you since dun na aangat ang fuel efficiency niya.

Thanks....

Maluwag naman ang compartment ng escape. if wala ka naman gamit na ilalagay, pwde dun ang 3 kids or even 2 adults. I've tried it na and comfy pa rin naman daw sila sa compartment esp if kids mas enjoy pa nga nila sa compartment magkulitan..hehe pero kung uwi ka bicol at madami ka gamit, walang space unless may roofrack ang escape mo.

The cargo area of the Escape is wider than the Crosswind, though no contest that you can carry more baggages at the crosswind since it has more vertical space.

I have tried loading 3 xlarge travel bags and 2 cabin size hand carry bags at the Escape. Rear visual is not yet compromised.

bro my province is also bicol...i have 05 escape as well.

    escape
    - smooth ang handling
    - good suspension and driving comfort
    - speed is superior (i was apprehended at SCTEX running * 187kph)
    - gas
    - max 5 seating capacity for adults

    xwind
    - diesel
    - more cargo and passenger
    - medyo mabagal (compate to escape)
