February 1st, 2009 11:06 AM #1Hello everyone...Im planning to buy a Ford Focus but have a few questions
1. Is the new 2009 Ford Focus (Hatchback) available here? / Is the Ford Focus on the price list of the local website of Ford the new Focus?
2. Does the model here have the new Sync program
3. What are the major difference between 2008 and 2009 Focus?
4. Which do you think is better to be driven to work? 2008 or 2009 model?
Thanks in advance for the replies...

Which Ford Focus hatch are you looking at?
Focus 1.8L A/T (gasoline)
Focus 2.0L A/T (gasoline)
Focus 2.0L TDCi M/T (diesel)
Focus 2.0L DSG A/T (diesel) *soon to be launched (double clutch automatic)
Price list: (next time simply use google.com to search for info on the web)

Changes from the Focus 2008 vs 2009 seems to be limited to external changes including the revised tail-light (which reminds me of a cheap motel room).

There's also a little crease in the hatch... and the cock-eyed headlight.
Changes include an upgrade of interior materials. Now the interior looks good and feels good. Suspension and chassis upgrades to make the car feel less heavy to drive (steering lighter, but still feels good).
Sync is not available on the global Focus. It's only available on the American-market Focus... to make up for the fact that they get a crappy, shoddily face-lifted, nearly ten-year old 1st generation Focus, instead of the much-improved, state-of-the-art generation 2.5 model we get in the Philippines.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

February 4th, 2009 11:12 PM #5Too bad about the sync...
This question is off topic:
Are there other audio systems like the Ford Sync to be used by other cars and Fords?

At the moment Sync is only available in North America, but Ford plans to make this feature global.

Ford taking Sync global
Ford announced yesterday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that it plans to expand its voice-activated Microsoft-developed Sync information service to Europe and beyond beginning next year. Sync, which was just upgraded to include traffic and news-speaking ability, will be available in ten European languages before it is spread to the Asia-Pacific region and Australia in the coming years.
Ford also announced that it is partnering with retailer Best Buy to build awareness of the system. Technical support for Sync will be available through Best Buy’s Geek Squad.
The automaker also made it clear that Sync will be opened up to third-party development. Ford offered examples of using Pandora Internet radio through car speakers or accessing Facebook messages via the Sync system.
