I've had my Ranger for about three weeks now, 4x2 XLT AT. That's my FC after taking a Bacolod to Dumaguete and back trip. Mixed of highway (35%), city (55%), and off road (10%) driving. FC is kinda low at only 8 km/L but keep in mind I'm driving with a heavy foot on the accelerator most of time to test out the vehicle. FC has improved a little bit since then, I'm now at 1300kms. I've reached speeds of up to 170 kph but ran out of road so I wasn't able to reach the full 200 kph. I'm pretty sure the Ranger can reach that speed without a problem given enough road and no other vehicles/pedestrians in sight. Ride is smooth until you hit the 150+ kph range. VERY fast acceleration, you can maintain speeds of 100-120 kph in a matter of seconds. The brakes are quite good too, you can really feel the grip especially if you're doing turns with a relatively fast speed.
Called several dealers, too bad no stocks of Ranger by October pa daw. Might settle na lang for the Strada.
PentelPen, I read in the manual that chime will sound if you exceeded 120km/hr. Is it true? btw, mine is XLT MT. I computed FC manually (full tank --> travel --> full tank again --> manuall compute consumption).
This will be a gift for me by my father this week sana.
Too expensive yung BT50, but will try to check it out first on Weds.

Toyota to launch 2.5L VN Turbo Intercooler engine for the Fortuner and Hilux - Auto News
How about the Hilux with the updated engine?
Pentel,
Looking at the picture of the gauges, may dimmer ba? Parang nakaka silaw sa gbi.
But its nice na optitron types na mga gauges ng ranger kahit 4x2
i saw black ranger sa palaisdaan gerona tarlac ng saturday,, mala f-150 nga.

*yggyboy - There are two modes: sport and manual shift (1st to 3rd gears only). I would only recommend using the manual mode when you want to force the car to run on either 1st or, in some cases, 2nd gear. Sport mode should suffice if you just want higher RPM when driving. Personally, I just leave it at "D" and the occasional "N" at stop signs. I've had no complaints so far with the automatic shifting.

nasa tumitingin lang seguro yan...
kung sa akin lang mas maganda yong bt-50 compared sa ranger. bakit mas mahal? some of the amenities that are found in bt-50 though slightly the same is more expensive than the ranger's. one example is the seat material, bt-50 uses leather where the ranger uses fabric. acu on the ranger is manual while bt-50 auto-climate.
if i have to choose between this 4x2's, I'll go for the bt-50 but that just me.
my comparison between these 4x2's would not be more of great difference than the 4x4's since they're identical. they only differ on some of the amenities...
At a little above 1M the MT Ranger is a steal...ganun kalaki 1M lang..i was window shopping yesterday and I saw this at their commonwealth showroom, sayang walang unit, natatawa ko sa ahente nung malaman niyang cash ako, hinard sell ako sa everest hehehe. Anyway can't blame em, ganda talaga mag aagawan talaga buyer, mura pa. Sana yung next batch nila hindi pa mag price increase. I'm really seriously considering trading in my Lancer EX, although it served me well and talagang di ako nagsasawa sa itsura niya at sa performance, these past few days of endless raining, I feel sedans are not practical anymore.
Hi PentelPen, Have you tried using the Cruise Control? what do you need to press first? "on" (in the center) or "set" (upper). Mine didn't work when i tried it yesterday..i pressed "on" but got no response. thanks for the feedback.
