Thanks for the advise sir. Palumain ko lang ng konti yung stock shocks ko hehe. And probably after I upgrade to 20" rims, to lessen the harsher ride hehe.

For the meantime, will be having a custom-made bed hard-cover installed for the Wildtrak at Atoy Body Customs.

Bossing, I was able to remove the 3 plastic screws or whatever you call it...hehehe...unfortunately I still couldn't remove the top cover. It seems that it is still attached to the front grill I just don't know where the clip is located. I would appreciate any information on where it is located and how to remove the clip. TIA

Mga boss, good buy pa ba yun current model ng ranger dito satin? Interested kasi kami sa XLT Manual. Kaya lang nabasa ko mukang madami syang issues (turbo), na fix na ba nila ito? Salamat sa mga sasagot.

Just wait for the facelifted Ranger coming out later this year. Then compare with the Navara and Hilux (coming out later this year as well).

We actually prefer the looks of the current model rather than the incoming face lifted model. Just want to know if the issues are still existing or fixed already. TIA

Hi Guys, I was able to buy a used Fashion Bar from a WildTrak Owner, now I'm planning to install it mine is a 2013 Ranger XLT and the type of bedliner I have is the one that overlaps on top of the Ranger Rear panels and tailgate. Does anyone know where I can have it installed? I believe they have to cut the bedliner to install it properly - TIA.

Long time lurker here. I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to this thread, it is the best source of information I have in the internet so far. Mine is a 3.2 WT A/T Chili Orange. My previous ride was a 2005 1.6 Civic M/T.

Prior to getting the Ranger, we shortlisted two pick-ups. The WT and the TOTL NP300 Navarra.

It was really a close fight between the two. Here is the rundown of Pros and Cons before arriving to our conclusion. Good to note that we also checked Mazda BT-50 and Chevrolet Colorado LTZ. Toyota HiLux G last year and saw the new Strada at MIAS 2015 (not fond of the design and interior).

    Ford 3.2 WT A/T
    Pros
    - Tall high ride
    - Higher wading depth of 800mm
    - Bigger engine displacement, +1 more piston for a more relaxed driving as it hovers at a much lower rpm from stop to get go
    - Backing-up camera + sensors
    - 6 airbags
    - Auto-headlight and wipers
    - Dual auto climate control
    - Discounts and lower interest rate
    - Bed liner as standard
    - Availability
    - Power driver seat
    - Wider 2nd row bench
    - Leather everywhere
    - Bed 12V power socket
    - Bigger looking tires

    Cons
    - Bumpy almost jarring ride specially for the back bench passengers (I am not too sure how uncomfortable as I'm always the driver, but my sis told me it is 100% better when she is sitting on the front passenger seat and 50% better when sitting in the bed).
    - No rear vent
    - Noisier at idle
    - Feels heavy, thus longer stopping distance
    - Wide turning radius (needed to upgrade our garage door to have 12-ft opening as the access road to the garage is a bit narrow, not to mention people still park their vehicles in front of the gate. Annoying)
    - No built-in Navi
    - Small 3.5 multi info display screen

    Upgrades:
    - 4-eye front parking sensors (4K)
    - 7" AVT Navi head-unit with TV Tuner (55K)
    - Carryboy Roller-type Bed Cover (40K)
    - 3M Tint wrap around (7K)
    - Bosch two tone horn (3K)
    - Spare tire lock (1.2K)

NOTE: all are casa installed to protect electrical warranty except for the tint, bed cover and tire lock

    Nissan NP300 Navara A/T TOTL

    Pro
    - Cheaper initial acquisition cost
    - Ride is much more plush or less jumpy
    - 7 speed auto
    - No auto climate control but the a/c cools the cabin faster
    - 5" display with built-in Navi
    - Keyless entry and engine start (my sis considers it as a flaw as it can be stolen if the key is nearby, say leaving the car at a restaurant parking and you sit within the range. Someone can still open the door and start the engine, and drive the car off. They can't restart the engine though when the key is not in range anymore)
    - Rear a/c vents
    - Day Running Lights
    - LED Projector type headlights with auto on/off
    - Newer compared to WT
    - Quieter at idle and less vibrations
    - Better display for the driver's instrument panel, as it offers more information than that of the ranger's (eg. battery level, which door is ajar, when is the next maintenance is due, etc).

    Cons
    - Availability
    - No discounts
    - No Auto wipers
    - No back-up sensors
    - Engine is peaky
    - Noticeable turbo lag from stop
    - No roll-bars
    - Cloth seat and door trims at this price range
    - No thigh support adjustments, but the seats are comfortable initially but not too sure after long drives.
    - Not sure about issues to come, at least for the WT there is a well documented thread like this from early adopters. Though the engine is an upgraded and up-rated version of well established Nissan engine.
    - Lower stance
    - Wading depth of 600mm, though Nissan says it can survive up to 800mm but decided to publish a more conservative figure.

In the end, it boiled down to availability. If Nissan Libis had one at the time of purchase, we were more likely to get it. Nissan Manila alerted us of an available unit after we have confirmed getting the WT from Ford Cainta. I prefer Ford Libis over Cainta as I had a very bad experience dealing with the SA a year ago with their Dealer Incentive. We end up with Ford Cainta as the bank who offered us the lowest interest rate has a tie-up with this dealership. Should we pushed for Libis, the rates would change.

Here is the deal we got from RCBC.

    Downpayment: 60%
    Loan Term: 18 mos
Interest for the Term: 6.71% inc 1% DI (next lowest was Metrobank at 7.7% inc 0.5% DI)
Loan Type: Advance Interest (1 month advance amortization)
    Chattel: 13K
Insurance: From the bank for the for first year with AOG at P36K with P15K participation fee (I know it is expensive but it is part of the deal for the low interest rate)

Overall: We were able to save 15K when we chose RCBC over Metrobank with all the cost of acquisition considered.

Here are the deals we got from Ford:
    Discount: 25k
Free: Platinum tint, visor only, all windows and back
    - Tools
    - Complete floor matting
    - ERA
    - EWD
    - Free 1k PMS
    - Free labor for 10K PMS
    - 3 Years LTO Registration (Note: we have to pay 1,7K for TPL)

My car just breached the 3K kms mark, here are the list of issues/quirks that I have so far:

    - rattle noises coming from the rear driver side door
    - cold air leaking at the bottom of the windshield (SA says it is normal, but insisted it is not. We have a 1999 Starex and an 2005 Civic none of which display such behavior for the first 5 years. SA told me he is going to take note of it and have it checked when I'm free or during the 10K PMS). It is annoying when it is raining as it forms a frost on the windshield and makes driving a bit difficult at night.
    - Shift jolt when moving from D to N when in stop and go traffic, and D to R. I have to press the brakes harder to minimize this jerking movement.
    - Slow shifting when in S+ mode (manual shifting, specially from 1-2, 2-1 and 2-3) there is a significant delay in my opinion. Good for going downhill though, no need to ride on the brakes.
    - Delayed shifting on Drive mode when shifting from 2-3, sometimes it is jerky when doing a hard acceleration from stop. Better to put it in S mode.
    - Still looking for signs of uneven stance, I think the driver side is lower or it is just my eyes playing tricks on me. I haven't measured it though.

Overall, I don't have a buyer's remorse so far. I still smirk when I'm next to a Navara knowing I'm a tad taller and I can probably out-run one in a straight line. It has become my daily drive, my other is a Kawasaki KMX 125 motorcycle. I love the tall ride height and it is a lazy driver's car. Auto everything. Parking has been made easier with the parking sensors all-over. Ride has been soften a bit after adding the 35kg bed cover rollers. My tire pressure is at 38psi for economy. Office colleagues were asking about the car when I first brought it, citing they also like the car. It was my first choice to begin with and I'm happy with the purchase and the dealership experience now than before. Given if the Navara was available during that time we have to make a decision, I would have tried hard to convince my family to still stick with the Ranger.

    FC Using full-tank method:
    7-8k/L City
    8-10k/L Mixed 60% City/40% Highway
    12-14k/L Mostly highway driving

I just started using UniOil Euro 4 Diesel so I can't really tell the difference yet coming from Petron Turbo Diesel. Before that, I was using Petron Diesel Max. In terms of smoke, still getting a bit from sudden acceleration using Euro 4 Diesel. Vibration and smoothness are still at par. I might be able to arrive to a better conclusion probably on my second fill-up with Euro 4. In terms of fuel consumption when using different types of diesel, it is unreliable as I filled up with Diesel Max during my break-in period. I hope I get better numbers as the kms stack up.

So there is my contribution as a way of saying thanks as well to all who contributed first and helped me in deciding whether to join the growing Ranger bandwagon or not.

I like to know who among the tsikoters got the AVT head-unit as well. I'm having issues with the following:

    - GPS sometimes does not get sat signal after turning the car on(workaround exit navi and pull it up again, it works every time)
    - Map is not updated, returned to the in-house accessories dealer and they say that is the latest but saw in AVT's website (iNAV - GPS Navigation System) that they have an update for Mar and May of last year.
    - Updating the maps is perpetual but it will take up to a week to get the SD card back.
    - When we did the break-in trip to Sagada, TPLEX up to Araneta is not yet there as some of the roads we now have here in the metro.
    - When I entered some address, it is not found in the map but could be searched in Google Maps. Another is if ever it is there, when you press Fastest Route it returns an error code of "Cannot reach destination" which is really frustrating. So I end up using my Android phone. Problem is, the head-unit is not fully compatible with Android, it does not project turn-by-turn navigation instructions to the car speakers.
    - Do you guys also experience these quirks? I have an option of returning the product if I'm not satisfied up to 6-mos from date of purchase.

Hi sir. Maybe it's the alarm system? Do you have one installed? Park lights/signal lights tend to blink or flash when doors are opened.

Thanks sa replies. Just stock alarm. Wala po ata Sync eto 2013 T6 XLT.
Nadidisable ko po pero temporary lang. Ignition Off > Open door > Dip/Push light > Beep sound once.
Pag off ignition ko po may park lights na naman.
