My Problem: If I buy the ford ranger 4x2 XLT now! it will get delivered by july? "thats along wait!" but OK!.

Another Problem: I don't know what the Ranger model looks like, NO displays here in Mindanao! Cagayan de Oro City will have display by MAY.I called the local ford they said "MAYBE by may they'll have a display and specs??".
so Im asking when will davao have a display?...

AND I DON'T KNOW THE SPECIFICATION'S OF THE NEW RANGER! [specs of the model there selling ex 4x2XLT,4x4XL] (no info on ford website but their post on facebook directed me to their website.)???

-IF I BUY THE XLT 4X2 "DOES IT COME WITH": --BEDLINER? --BULL BAR? --STEPTUBE? (or do i have to buy these).

-IS THE SEAT CLOTH OR LEATHER? (in the philippines coz i know spec's will differ from australia or thailand).

-WHAT COLORS ARE AVAILABLE? (in the philippines coz i know spec's will differ from australia or thailand).

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN XL and XLT and how big of a difference?

-IS THE "XL 4x4" a bare model? and how bare is the XL.. are the tires steel or alloy? is it still a HIGH-RIDER? Are the door handles and side mirrors chorme or plastic? foglamps? ....

If you mean side steps or step boards, yes 4x2 XLT does come with a pair and in tubular form.

4x2 XLT: Cloth. w/ leather wrapped steering wheel.

Wildtrak is the only one that will have leather upholstery (I think).

When will we get the 3.2-liter Ford Ranger?

While the arrival of the all-new Ford Ranger pleased many people, quite a few were put off by it being available only with a 2.2-liter inline-four engine. One prospective customer at the auto show yesterday even strongly voiced out his disappointment over the unavailability of the more powerful 3.2-liter inline-five Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engine with its prodigious output of 197hp and 470Nm of torque.

If you're looking to buy one, you’ll have to wait for 2013 since that's when Ford Philippines will have it in their showrooms.

According to Ford Group Philippines assistant vice president for communications Anika Salceda-Wycoco, Ford Motor has only given the go-signal for Ford Philippines to bring in the higher-displacement model by next year--once the markets that are traditionally strong in pickup sales like Thailand have been satiated.

"While we'd like to bring it in as soon as possible, it's really up to Ford (Motor) when we can bring it," said Salceda-Wycoco.

So if you really want the Ranger, it's either you buy the currently-available 2.2-liter variants or you can place an early deposit for the more powerful 3.2-liter option and be one of the first in line when it finally reaches the Philippines. Who knows, maybe if enough deposits are placed, Ford Philippines might be able to convince its parent company to bring it in much, much earlier.

Hmmm... Ford used to be aggressive in the 90s introducing F150s and Expeds in the market with different engine variants. So why being conservative now?

Not that, it is because of the flood in Thailand that the supply cannot keep up with the demand. They are busy keeping up with demand in Thailand once the demand goes down after a couple of months and the factories are all back to 100% working capacity then they can address our market though Thailand is still a bigger market for Ford.

There's limited supply / production as of now. They just launched it too early here considering they have limited supply in Thailand, probably a marketing strategy. Ford stopped accepting orders for the 3.2 liter Wildtrak in Thailand.

Yes its a strategic marketing move since potential buyers of TOTL pick-ups that not necessarily needs it now can still wait for the 3.2L variant.

Note the video presentation used during MIAS by Ford with that 800mm river crossing was a 4X4. I seriously doubt the 4X2 2.2L can do that.

If 2013 is the scheduled availability of the 3.2L, I'd sit this one out and wait for it. Or, if Nissan or Isuzu pulls a fast one on Ford and come out with an equivalent in hp/torque with 6-speed AT before 2013, then I will have to pass up on the Ford.

Any news on Nissan or Isuzu upgrading the Navarra and Dmax, respectively? There's a void left open by Ford here.

I also think Ford purposely delayed the release of the 3.2 L Ranger... just so they can gauge what the competition are planning for the coming months.

Dealers nowadays don't care much if you pay cash or on loan. Either way, they will get paid. If you take out a loan, the dealership earns a commission from the bank. So why would they bother to give you a discount for cash? They'd prefer you take a loan.

Thats correct. I work in a bank and they especially prefer if you get inhouse financing and you agreed to an add on rate of lets say 5% for dealers incentive. Youll get the unit reaallly fast but youve been ripped off

Yeah... shame... the Ranger's bed used to be nice and long. Given the market, it makes sense to sacrifice a little bed space for legroom. That was the first thing I noticed, too... but at least the bed isn't as short as on the Strada. Either way, you can use a bed extender for long loads.

My big nit is the size of those wheelarches... they really protrude into bed space

And yes, the wading capacity is amazing. Always a Ford strong point... I'm wondering if it'll also prove as flood-proof as the old truck, which could be immersed completely in water for several days (Ondoy) and still work afterwards, unlike some other trucks...
with several electrical sensors and ECU installed in all pickup trucks nowadays. I seriously doubt that it could replicate the durability of "flood proof" found on old trucks. You cant even jump start new trucks nowadays even if its manual. I tried doing that when the battery died hehe just wasted my energy.

Sounds reasonable given bigger engine at 3.2L. I use Shell Helix and it doesn't cost P600/liter. I could be wrong. But I do change oil every 5T kms or 6 months, whichever comes first.

Ok lang naman to speculate but the fact remains na it's already long way overdue.. By the time i get my hands on a black ranger na pina reserve ko last month, maybe this August, siguro meron na lalabas na bagong model sa australia at thailand..

As usual kulelat na naman tayo dito sa Pinas.. Haayz!
