Parang pricing scheme lang ng Strada ah! Looks like Ford really wants to eat the slice of the pie of the Strada in the market Baka yung 3.2 Wildtrak maging halos ka-presyo na ng 2.5 GLS Sport-V na Strada

Seen it in person kanina, all-I-can say maganda at maluwag ang New Ford Ranger. . Ganda rin yung naka display sa MIAS ng dressed up version with snorkel.

    Roomier than the Strada IMHO.

Given 60K lang yung difference ng 4x4 option sulit na yun, pero mas maganda if 3.2ltr egine tandem nya.

That is reserved for the Wildtrak 4x4 variant

Walang 4x4 unit on display sa mias. They dressed up a 4x2 with snorkel and bullbar to look like a 4x4. Ok yung ranger, no need to drill the fender for a snorkel. Heheh

We will see this new 2.2L / 3.2L TDCi powerplant longevity.
The 2008 Trekker of kapitbahay contractor is already proven, has racked-up 186K kms with no major issues.

sana nga tama yun price na mababa... mga 1.2M Pesos... sana yun 3.2 engine na 4x4 variant din... para talagang panlaban sa Strada.

    Double Cab 4x2 XLT M/T * 1,069,000

They are accepting reservations at MIAS now and will be available in July pa.

These prices are very competetive guys! Although i'm saddened that they didn't show the 2.2 4x4 Wildtrak variant they have it here as a previous poster showed the pics taken in Global City. It will most probably priced at 1.3m+
What do you reckon would be the difference between the XLT and XL other than the transmission? Any specs?

Probably between XL & XLT trim lang yan and features inside esp. the Bluetooth radio. same engine na 2.2ltr plus tranny na 6-speed M/T or A/T... Pwede na yung 2.2 ltr 4x2 na XLT.. limited din naman ang top speed dito saten..

I just have a feeling that this 2.2L engine is the same engine fitted to the 12 model year Land Rover Defender. The Ford Puma engine family used in the Defenders since 2007 are similar the ones fitted to Ford Ranger and Ford Transit vans. they just vary in displacement. Coincidentally for 2012, Land Rover changed the 2.4L Puma with the 2.2L to meet tighter CO2 legislations and then Ford introduces a 2.2L Ranger. What do you guys think? The Ford Puma engines are pretty durable engines.

I placed a reservation over the weekend for a 3.2L with my Ford dealer. According to my dealer, 3.2L will first be released and then followed by the 2.2L variant. That's certainly good news. 2.2L will give 150ps/375nm while the 3.2L will deliver 200ps/470nm. A clear 67nm above the Navarra. April is the scheduled release.
so did you call your dealer again? what did he say? what will happen to the reservations? since the 2.2 did come out first?

I wanted to ask about the Ranger XL's [ external rope hooks ] can they be removed. I don't like the look of those external rope hooks in the XL model. If you buy the XL can you order one without the rope hooks? coz i it looks like plastic but it seems bolted to outside of the bed.

I don't think we are getting the variant with external rope hooks. As I checked sa MIAS there were none shown and no you cannot remove them as they are assembled in the factory.

The new Ranger will be available in 4x2 and 4x4 with three engines:

    2.5L Duratec petrol engine (122kW & 226Nm) mated with 5-speed manual transmission
    2.2L Duratorq TDCi ("PUMA" ZSD-424) diesel engine (88kW & 285Nm; 92kW & 330Nm or 110kW & 375Nm) consumes as little as 7.6 L/100 km (37.2 mpg)[citation needed] with choices of 6-speed manual or automatic transmission
    3.2L Duratorq TDCi ("PUMA") diesel

Your deduction is spot on. Did you read about it from wikipedia before posting it here?
