chips are an easy modification to shift more torque and power to lower rev ranges ... (don't expect to get more power and a lower fuel consumption at the same time as some vendors want to make you believe...) consider, that every time you ask for more power there will be higher wear and tear, on engine and drive train components, brakes and tires - that's the physics ...some chip vendor will give a "warranty" wrt engine and drive train damage: they can do this because they still operate the engine in the same performance range designed by manufacturer via the engine map, but closer to the max. threshold.
Additionally be also aware that more power means more heat the cooling system of the engine has to cope with. While I still believe that most of the overheating issues are caused by lack of coolant in the system a few cases might be also caused by tuning chips: owners are happy about the higher torque when pulling their vehicle up a steep hill ignoring at the same time that the additional heat needs to be exchanged via the same, unmodified cooling system...
Guys, what tires would you recommend? Brand? Size? With stock original mags. Hindi na ko mag papalit ng mags , tires na alngpo pero need your help. Wala po ako gasno alam sa tires.

Thank you very much sa info sir and appreciates too you lending me your racechip.... But made some research about racechips and tuning device, it says that it's not good for long time used and will definitely wreck our engines. That's according to some articles and reviews I've encountered and read.
There was also a comment made by jx90 along the thread and I guess he too had read the same article :-)
Pati yung baby natuwa sa ranger nyo hehe.
Bawal mo din ba itest drive?
By the way, our 1 week old blue ranger. No mods

Putting it in the minimum setting would destroy its purpose. Wag na lang bumili, sayang lang pera. Hehe.Originally Posted by Djerms

Question mga sirs, mayroon bang hill assist launch yong XLT manual sa ranger. Sabi kasi nang SA sa wildtrak lang daw. Just want to confirm from those who know. Planning to get one kasi this coming april. (XLT manual) tia.
but you can set it to work at lower rpm? tama ba? gusto ko sana is as low as 1000 to 2000rpm for stop go and crawl uphill.
well, the ranger with chip even with minimum setting should perform better than no chip.
wala hill start assist ang xlt.
btw what's the difference of wildtrak version to XLT and XL? jeez. paganda ng paganda sa mata ko tong pickup nato :D
