Sa volmax ba yan? If owner kasi naghahanap, alam na nila na tsikot yan hehe their usual clientele kasi are heavy machineries kasi. So halos puro mechanics bumibili hehe

    I am located in Malaysia.

    Hi I got a Ford Ranger 2010 Model XLT(malaysian version) , Automatic. 2.5Liter, WLC Engine. (2.5L TDCI DOHC 16v inLine) (143PS*3500rpm)

I am using the Donaldson P550335 engine oil filter (equivalent to LF3335)

Is the Fleetguard better in Filtration that Donaldson?
    Donaldson : Efficiency 99%: 40 Micron
How many Micron is the LF3335 at 99%?

Can I use the longer version LF785 ?
    Can i go 15,000km using DELO400 CI-4+ Iso-Syn Engine Oil.

    Thanks.

Doc, can you help me, i can't find any available heads for the bypass filtration. Im planning to use 3/4 center thread, but it seems all stores doesn't carry it,
Im also planning to put engine oil bypass like what you have in your ride, i like the amsoil package, or the perma cool type. Doc, how much does the bypass kit from amsoil cost in there, in the U.S?

I saw the pictures of the duramax engines with the bypass filters from amsoil, i think their straight forward in terms of installation, problem is the availability of the parts or kit here locally.... Thanks Doc

Depends on what your putting it on. If it's a 4m40 engine it won't work due to the M26 thread pattern.

You can use the permacool set up on any of these sizes.

    3/4"-16, 13/16"-16, 1"-12, M18 x 1.5, M20 x 1.5 and M22 x 1.5. Designed to use oil filters with 3/4"-16 thread.

How every if your going to do a bypass I would recommend using a adaptor and running a 1-16" thread filter.

    SINGLE Oil Filter Mount System

    Adapter here.

    PH3976A Oil Filter Converter~1"-16 X 3/4"-16 Bypass 2u FM | eBay

Then run either a Baldwin B7317 or the even better LF9028 (which I run) both are 5 micron bypass filters, the Baldwin is 5 microns at 50% the fleetguard is 98% at 5 microns. Fleetguard double the price. I actually have 3 of the B7317's in the Philippines which I probably won't use anytime soon because it's going to take a long time to get 25000k on my van.

Cheapest place for both of these is Welcome to Filterbarn™ | Discount Oil Filters | Discount Air And Fuel Filters | Heavy Equipment and Diesel Engine Filters you can get the baldwin for less than 12 bucks.

You can also go with something like this as well but if it's on a SUV the hose might be a bit short. plus harder to mount.

ALUMINUM 10AN AN10 ENGINE OIL FILTER RELOCATION KIT MALE+3X STAINLESS STEEL LINE | eBay

You can get your 8AN fitting here.

    JIC/AN adapters

and go with pushlok which also work awesome

    Pushlock Fittings

You would need 4 3/8" to 8 JIC for the adapters.

And the 4 pushlock 1/2 ID to 8 JIC and get your hose locally, A hydraulic shop is the best place to go for this.

Or get the hose as a already complete assembly like I did from Surplus Center - Hydraulics, Engines, Electrical and More

    Surplus Center - 1/2" X 36" JIC 8F X JIC 8F 3500 PSI HYD HOSE

Or you luck out and find a hole kit like this for cheap. which is a dual filter permacool set up. Which is what I use with the 1-16" adapters. But you can go with a normal filter for the first one and this will make your bypass last much longer.

OIL FILTER RELOCATION KIT DOUBLE TWIN FILTER PERMA COOL 10795 | eBay

You can do a whole kit if you know where to look and how to do it for under 6000P but then you got to get it to the Philippines so I would use pobox.ph and your set.

The Fleetguard is 30 microns * 95% efficiency.

Using a longer version just depends if you have space which in a Ranger you should just make sure the filters have the same gasket, and close to the same bypass valve if it has one.

Rangers are particular dirty so I would stick with 10000klm max. The only way to squeeze extra life out of oil is to do a EGR delete and Oil catch can, that will get you your 12000klm. Delo 400 will easily go this distance.

Doc, Im putting the bypass filter on the transmission fluid on my everest (WL-T engine)... right now im ordering in singapore for a 3/4-16 center thread filter head...

but im also contemplating of ordering another set of filter head for the engine oil bypass... its really a pain here to get the parts,
i have already called volmax (baldwin)/ Pacer(fleetguard)/ even Paleeno (donaldson) and they have none whatsoever of any type of filter head assemblies...

Doc, heres the site of the one in Singapore, im ordering the head and would take two weeks to arrive...
    Griffin Group International Pte Ltd

Any points to consider when running a transmission fluid bypass filter Doc?

Doc, can fuel filter media be used to run a bypass filter for a transmission fluid? is that ok or not?

    thanks

So in Conclusion, the FleetGuard are indeed better than Donaldson in filtering more dirt?

Doc, FleetGuard engine oil filter uses what paper media? Is it coated?

My Ranger can fit the longer version. But I will stick to the LF3335 Stock, since I can use on my Fortuner and Hilux also.

Though I don't mind helping people this is something you can google.

You can find all these here. This is the cheapest place to get them. Baldwin Filter BF954 Fuel Filter

Just type in the part numbers. You can find pretty much all of these on these two sites or you can go by Volmax in Manila to see if they have them in stock. I am currently in the US. You can use pobox.ph if you wanted to order them from the states.

Be aware Baldwin filters are just about the best for fuel filters so they are not cheap. I prefer Baldwin over fleetguard and Donaldson when it comes to the fuel filters unless its a FS series Fleetguard which is microglass.
