They are by no means a premium filter, just good enough to meet factory standards, (which is designed to wear your engine so you will get a new car down the road) Heavy duty Fleet filters are designed to extend the life of your engine and reduce maintenance cost that's the biggest difference.

So on a diesel these filters are for really short oil change intervals and they will leave your oil pretty dang black because they don't do much for the smaller 20 micron and lower particles like soot and carbon.

Get a Baldwin BD28 if your looking to replace the filter on the Pajero or the Titangold equivalent, Have not seen any real fleetguard in that filter model yet.

Remember many over the counter filters like Bosch, Purolator, Wix are 99% to 98.7 percent efficient at 20u (microns) that's a big big difference in keeping your engine clean.
