5w-30 weights are either semi/or fully synthetic in nature.. the number 5 means there are a lot of viscosity modifiers in the mix hence it wont be pure mineral...
high mineral ratio starts at 15w-40.... most 10w-40 are blends... and those 5w-40/5w-30 are mostly fully synthetic.
if your budget permits, you can't go wrong with fully synthetics...
Thanks!

Every 5K or 6months ako nagpapa change oil using RP 5W30 and going 3 years ko na ginagawa yan. Thanks!
semi-synthetic yan sir... whoever told you na mineral yan eh hindi alam sinasabi...
synthetic blend classification ng SGO 5W-30.... as per the nature of engine oils (5W can only be achieved if there are a lot of viscosity modifiers, kaya hindi siya pwede maging fully mineral base)
safe naman ganyan weights sir... especially on gasoline engines, as long as properly maintained ang engine... mas matipid sa fuel kasi at less ang friction internally kung low weights at low viscosity and oil ( only holds true to gas engines-due to difference internally between gas and diesel engines)...
Un nga lang personally, I prefer using 40 na viscosity. Kanya kanyang preference sir.... But 30 viscosity shoould do no harm to your engine. Huwag lang 20 eh anipis na talaga un... HTH.![]()
Just wanna share.
I brought my Civic to Speedyfix around 1st wk of Feb for the tune up and change oil and to finally try the RP oil. Brought my own Baldwin filter and the spark plugs from Honda. They used 10w40 in my car.
Initial impression was just ok, almost the same as Idemitsu that Honda uses. But as weeks passed, that is where I saw the difference. It seems that my FC got better, no, waaaayyyy better. Before I can only get to as much as 355 to 360 kms before the fuel light appears, but now, it even reaches 400 kms. I was really surprised. When it comes to engine smoothness and responsiveness, I really don't feel that much difference with Idemitsu.
I think I have found my new oil. Medyo malayo nga lang ang Speedyfix sa amin but it's worth it.
Can't wait to try it on my Dmax and pair it with a Baldwin filter.
TIA
Bosch is better than most OEM filters out there, and DGU is highly praised

I think baldwin/fleetguard is a notch higher than bosch.
