Poor emissions...... black or even white smoke...... depende kung ilan degrees naka advance or retard ang timing. Pwedeng hindi ito mapansin sa mata kung off ang timing by 1 or 2 degrees lang, pero makikita na ito ng smoke opacity tester, lalung lalo na ng exhaust gas analyzer.

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out because I'm still not over the shock of the quote from Toyota for a Supply Pump.

I have a 2nd hand Innova G Diesel A/T and the car has been stalling in the morning when the weather is cool. Also, white smoke seems to be coming from the exhaust when I rev the engine to warm it so it won't stall. Anyway, I brought the car to Toyota yesterday and they told me it may be the supply pump and they would have it checked.

Got the call today that I would have to spend 80,000 pesos for a new supply pump or I could get a reconditioned one for 40,000 pesos. Is that correct? I didn't even hear any mention of a warranty anywhere there. Is that because my car is 2nd hand?

Sorry guys... ask me about computers... not cars. Really need to know if my leg is being pulled here. Is it really that expensive?

    Thanks for any advice.

Stalling is symptomatic of supply pump failure which is quite common to Innovas..

I didn't even hear any mention of a warranty anywhere there. Is that because my car is 2nd hand? I am not aware of Toyota's warranty coverage, and if it is transferrable. You can ask around at Tsikot's Toyota forum.

Sorry guys... ask me about computers... not cars. Really need to know if my leg is being pulled here. Toyota is probably correct in their diagnostics.

Is it really that expensive? It shouldn't be as we recondition these pumps for a lot less.

    Thanks for any advice.

Hi Dieseldude! Is there a reputable garage or person you may want to refer me to to have the supply pump reconditioned or maybe even a reputable reconditioned pump supplier? Any money I can save this season would be much appreciated.

    Help!

Biglang ayaw mag-start ng 2003 ford ranger trekker 4x2 namin. Wala naman problema the day before. Although medyo malamig ang panahon lately. around 24C sa gabi.

Nagcra-crank yung engine pero ayaw magstart.

    Pano ba i-troubleshoot ito. Thanks.

    Hi DieselDude,

I seem to have a problem with my 98 BMW725 TDS...the problem is at idle...there is so much fuel knock, my question...is there a quickfix to this...like diesel fuel additives/conditions that can minimize or eliminate it. About the fuel knock, its only present at idle around 800-900rpm. If I just tap the accelerator very lightly to keep it at 1000rpm the knock is totally gone....if I pump the accelertor several times very very quickly and let it idle it will idle without the knocking sound for about 2 seconds and the the knock returns...I also would wnat you to know the car has no problem at all, power is good, not much smoke emited when driven hard.
Another concern of mine, the car does not start quickly even when already hot, it will take 2 to 3 revolutions before the engine fires up...Whats your suggestion?
I believe you have a shop...are you capable of rebuilding the pump and are the parts available if ever I have it done? Could the injectors be a possibility or is it the pump, or thats just normal for older cars?

If your engine cranks normally, try checking for presence of voltage on your glow plugs.

If voltage is present, individually check your plugs for open circuit.

Adding a turbo alone will not sufficiently increase power. To truly gain power, the inj. pump will also have to be recalibrated for more fuelling as the turbo will be supplying more air to your engine.
