Simota may be good. But if you installed an undersized filter, it will restrict air to your engine. Replacement air filers should be matched to the engine to allow sufficient air flow at full load and speed.
A good 2nd hand engine would often have a good injection pump on it too. Injection pump timing of a used engine doesn't normally deviate from specs; not unless it has been tampered with.
If you replaced your engine, you may have a transmission-to-differential gear ratio mismatch. I hope not!!!!
It maybe a mismatch trans to diff gear ration bcoz when I travel around 120 kph my engine seems in high rev (my tachometer not functioning). As par as I know other nissan pick up of this type had a 4.375:1 diff. gear ration while mine is 4.888:1. Is it a big difference on fuel consumption? But I think if I had a low speed gear ratio I will not feel difficulty in pulling specially on 1st gear on up hill. What do you think sir?
Thanks again.

What do you think sir? You may have a low power problem on your engine as well; insufficient air or insufficient fuel. This has to be checked.
Thanks again. You're welcome....
Sir Dieseldude,
Is there any instrument to test the pressure delivery of injection pump without removing from the engine? Can we put the test instrument and run the engine so that we can determine if the pressure is still in the manufacturers spec?
Thanks again sir.
Delivery pressure is controlled by the injectors, not the pump. What's most important is the pump's fuel output quantity and governed speed, which can only be measured through our Bosch test bench.
Btw, if you changed your engine from petrol to diesel, I would recommend that you check your fuel suction line from tank-to-pump as it may be too small. The in-tank pipe of an original petrol engine would normally be smaller than that of an original diesel fuel tank. Diesel engines have bigger diameter suction pipes than petrol engines due to the larger flow of fuel which is mostly returned back to the tank.
Your injection pump may just be starved of fuel.
Bye
Sir Dieseldude my ride is a '99 hilander slx.odometer is at 82000km. got it calibrated 2 years ago. Ngayon mejo mausok na (white smoke) kahit idling lang kita mo white smoke comin out of the tailpipe. Sabi mechanic na kakilala ko ok naman daw takbo at hatak naman. mejo lang mausok tlga. And ung usok di lang pag umaga nag start so di sya cold start lang. Do you think injector tips need cleaning? san ba ok magpalinis nito? sabi din mechanic ko try ko bumili orig na airfilter kse replacement lang nlagay ko.
appreciate your help sir..

If you are sure on the condition of your engine, this problem is most probably injection pump related. Cleaning your nozzles is fine, but I don't think this will correct your white smoke concern.
Air filter replacement will not also help as your engine smokes white even at low idle. A restricted air filter will cause and engine to smoke black at high speeds when the engine demand for air is large.
napansin ko lang di naman tumakaw sa diesel, mejo mausok lang na puti. if injection pump, calibration usually solves this sir?

Sir Dieseldude, ask ko lang if you will recommend any additive like Liqui Moly for example as injector cleaner? performance additive?
If yes, any other brand that you will also recommend? My ride is Pajero FM 4m40. This may be overkill but if doesnt't hurt the engine but additional help for performnace at dahil na rin sa condition ng road at diesel fuel sa Phils, I will go for it.
Appreciate your input.
