Korea to be assembled to make the production costs lower, but the raw materials such as the steel, filter media, anti-drain back valve, steel core and rubber gasket is made in Japan then sent to Korea to be fully assembled base sa information I got is that is their way without sacrificing the quality of the filter by not skimping out on the materials used and by just lowering the production costs by making labor and operating cost lower by transferring the production to S. Korea but still using their in-house production of raw materials in Japan. Also they maintained the filter media to be a higher grade one compared to VIC. Also the pressure of JS brand has higher tolerance than VIC, since Nippon Micro T1636 has 2.4mPa, JS C-110J has 2.3mPa and VIC C-110 has only 2.0mPa before the filter blows up and can no longer keep the oil inside.
