    it is a 1996 corolla, right? what is your odometer reading? what is your engine type? this year of corollas are run on timing belt. any difference in sound as you are cranking? any unusual noise while cranking? i hate to say this but confirm first. don't rush into previous post guesses. like they said, it has become a science. better to be that way than guessing.

    and who said it is confirmed timing belt? the problem with people is that they put their words into other people's mouth.





    so what happened to a systematic approach. diagnose first then operate, not the other way around.

    Yes. It's a 1996 Gli. The odometer reading is 184012 na pala I already had the timing belt replaced when it reached 100k, I did not notice any unusual noise. I only tried to start it thrice. I turned the key all the way na pero ayaw tumuloy yung pagikot (?)

    What I want to find out is if this can still start from push start method? or there are less chances?

    is it cranking but wont start? or cranking a few times then stopped cranking?

    Crank then stopped cranking kahit nakatodo pa yung turn ng key.

    Mas maganda pa yan. Yung akin parang isang ikot lang tapos kahit naka todo yung key wala ng ikot. Matagal na nga ako walang change oil Eh kasi two years na hindi pa ako nakaka 5k kms

    Suot ka na rin neto Cathy baka magka gas explosion kaka jumper mo sa 1sn batt



    BTT: Crank it max 10secs so that your starter and solenoid won't overheat.

    Kung namamatay ang cranking,may problema starter mo(or baka maluwag jumper cable mahina current), dapat continous yan as long as nasa start position ang key.

    Sa bakal na hook malapit sa distributor. Nag spark nga pag kabit ko.

    if you have 4AFE, your engine is non interference type-meaning-even if your timing belt broke while the crankshaft was turning, it will not have severe engine damage because the valves and the pistons do not share the same space. it might sound locked up if :
    1- the camshaft lost lubrications and has seized
    2-the injector/s is/are leaking making the piston hydrolock
    3-the crankshaft is seized.
    4-funny as it seems, maybe an alternator, idler pulley, water pump or other accessory might be seized restricting free movement of the crankshaft pulley.
    5-if it was a manual transaxle equipped car, the clutch or transaxle maybe locked up
    6-hopefully, not your pistons seized in the cylinder bore.


    have tests done first. don't be a doctor prescribing open heart surgery before even exhausting diagnostic procedures

    kung malakas ang battery (the live one) , and the starter is fine, you turn the key but cranks only once or twice then stops cranking then something's stuck (di kaya paikotin ng starter ang makina). sana hinde. did you try lipat mo sa ibang part ng engine ang negative cable? or sa negative terminal mismo
