i am amazed at the batteries' timing of demise.
they probably hire high-powered scientists, to accomplish this.

Batteries use chemical reaction to produce voltage. You can compute for the rate of decay of the materials inside the battery.

Seriously! If I had come over a few days earlier I would have saved me over 5k. [emoji38]

The first Amaron I bought lasted over 3 years. From the anecdotes here in Tsikot, that is actually a rather short life. Though that battery was discharged a number of times since the Granvia it was installed on had alternator trouble. All the other Amarons I bought after, at least among the cars that are still around, are still functioning well.

But the Santa Fe the SF Sonic was installed on never had any electrical trouble!

we have to take into account, the type of traffic the car does.
    highway is the battery's friend.
city stop-and-go, especially night time, is the battery's fiend.

my son got over 4 years from his battery. he drove highway.
i got 13 months, or a month after warranty expired. i drive city, half being at night. i also used to turn off my engine at long stoplights.
same car model, same battery. (champion, by motolite. it was cheap, back then.)

Seems like Hyundais have a good charging.
Even on my Grand Starex, tumagal ng almost 5 years yung Amaron.

Sa Toyotas ko ngayon ko pa lang masubukan.
But in my vios it's 2 years already. Never had trouble pa.
Unlike sa Motolite sakto after warranty sira na

    Not categorically. It's case-to-case.

We had four Hyundais in the past (not all at the same time)... 2 Getz and 2 Starex.

One of each type of vehicle has had their alternators replaced due to non-charging.

And get this, the charging fault idiot lamp never lit up in both cases. The driver didn't have a clue that the vehicle was just running off of the batteries until the engine failed to start.

The old battery that we trade-in to Amaron shop what will they do with the old battery? Sell it to junkshop or recycle it?

    the lead is recycled.

the old hard rubber casings were re-cycle-able, also.

i do not know if today's casings are re-cycle-able. i think it is. it seems to be some sort of thermoplastic...

if it is out of warranty, i'd open the filler holes and see if it needs water. the plates should be completely submerged, kasi.

If only Ramcar/Motolite would deem Ph deserving of their world-class batts, Exide & Marshall, there'd be no competition....But nope, those aren't warranty-timer equipped.[emoji13]

I recently bought a car charger that have voltage reading. I have a car that I rarely use so if I plug in the car charger and it registers 12.5V that means battery is good? and when it becomes less than 12V when I plug it in that means I have to start the car so that battery can recharge?

Why start the car when you have that car charger? You plug it to charge the battery..

12V reading is not guarantee that the battery is good.. while it is holding 12V charge.. it should be able to at least maintain that with load
