sometimes, it is not so much the build quality of the battery, as it is the manner by which we abuse the battery thru our "driving habits".

Sir, the GS that you were pertaining, is it the GS Yuasa battery?

That GS Yuasa is the battery that came with our SG when we bought. The van is already 2 yrs and 7 months old and it seems that the battery is holding up pretty well although the last reading of the dealership, it was already below normal.

Yes bro. That's the one. GS Yuasa maintenance free. I regularly get 30+ months of service from GS in my daily driver. Best of all it is cheap too.

On my experience with the company's Innova and Avanza cars (diesel and gas respectively), the stock GS battery did good as well. Sulit indeed imho.

    frm google..

In Japan, battery failure is the largest complaint among new car owners. The average car is only driven 13 km (8 miles) per day and mostly in a congested city. As a result, the batteries will never get fully charged and sulfation occurs. The batteries in Japanese cars are small and only provide enough power to crank the engine and perform some rudimentary functions. North America may be shielded from these battery problems, in part because of long distance driving.*

Do you also do a lot of night time driving vinj?

Aside from storage baka matagal sa storage bago nabenta. I think that is also what happened with my last Motolite.

Yung rounded corners lang ng plates ng Motolite ang di ko makalimutan. They opened it up and compared it to other brands and the Motolite was the only one with rounded corners on the plates.

Thanks for sharing that information, bro. Rounded corners of plates - interesting.

If I remember my Physics correctly,- and assuming everything else equal, the longevity and power of the battery is directly proportional to the area of the plates.

Rounded corners to improve efficiency and productivity in the shop[production] floor? Too far-fetched in my limited experience.

Yes bro. Sharper corners means more surface area. Rounded corners means the plates have already been worn down by acid. The seller told me that brand might have been reusing plates from old batteries.

Wow, it did not dawn on me that the rounded edges were as a result of wear and tear and they're reusing the plates... I was thinking it was by design as material cost reduction or something in sync with manufacturing...

    In that case, WOW!

Medyo nag-eexpand na rin itong Amaron. Di na lang sa Banawe at Makati. Sa amin sa Marikina meron na rin. And I think in other places me nakita na rin ako tarp ng Amaron.

Yes. Minsan nga hindi na fresh yung battery. Then they "boost" it before they deliver it to the client
