That shop is owned by TPL din. You can canvass there also.
A little over 2 years palang longest Panasonic ko. Thats the JP blue series installed in our innova. The rest are quite new pa, 6 months palang or less. Can't comment on their longevity pa.

What might have cause the battery to explode?

Could be a defective alternator overcharging the battery by over 15 volts
^ Ouch! Looks like hydrogen gas build-up and something ignited it.
My Amaron 115D31L 21-month warranty is about to end next month. So far, it's still at 100% SoH.
On average, my car was only being used about 2-3x a month from the time the lockdown started. I guess the smart charger was really a worthwhile investment. Prior to plugging in the charger, the battery SoH and SoC were at 98% and 68%, respectively.
Belated happy birthday CB!
This is worrying. Not the first time I've heard of Amarons exploding. Getting a little scared of the one in our CR-V. At least that one is a small battery, so maybe it'll just make a small explosion![]()

i wonder,
was the engine running when it happened?
was the battery being charged when it happened?
if 12 am, my guess is, everyone, including the battery, was asleep. so why did it explode?...
'buti na lang, the battery clamp was there. debris could have traveled farther and hit something else...
parang yung mga air crash investigation...
a little spark brought down the entire giant airliner...

Yes and no.
The first time I charged the battery, I left it for close to three days. Since naka Bluetooth yung charger, I was able to monitor the progress from inside the house. Nung 14.61V na at less than 400mA nalang charging current, I turned it off.
I turn on the charger roughly once a week since. This time, topping off only takes a few hours nalang.
So to answer your question, yes I leave it clamped on but I turn it off remotely once the charging voltage reaches 14.6V and the charging current below half an Amp. This is to reduce the chances of gassing.
