Well, if they will employ the same tactic again they used when they introduced optra na mababa ang introductory price just to entice potential buyers, malamang they can generate instant popularity for captiva lalo nat positive ang feedback from people who had test driven it. Alam na natin ang ugali nang Pinoy, kung mura at kayang abutin ang reference (like the Santa Fe), puede na rin cguro baguhin an desisyon.
GM Autoworld Makati price for Captiva as follows:
2.0 4x2 P1.275 CRDi
2.0 4x4 P1.475 CRDi
2.4 4x2 P1.175 Gas
2.4 4x4 P1.375 Gas
CBU Thailand
Labasan na ng mga CRDi![]()
i call gm makati available na daw sa october ang captiva all the prices posted above are official according to the s.a. hintayin ko na lang yong reviews from our car specialists, experts pati na din critics hehehe...
The pricing scheme is interesting and attractive indeed. Yon din ang hinala ko basta slightly mataas doon sa 1.16M na sinabi ko like their 4x2 this will raise a lot of eyebrows. This bolsters my wait and see attitude now. Abangan ko muna ang mga reviews. It would be great if leather seats would be available as standard like the SF. 200K+ price difference between a captiva and an SF cannot be simply ignored. At least magamit pa yong 200K sa ibang bagay like pa re-chip for hp enchancement.
so they priced it near the CRV 4x2 2k7. something to look forward to na nga
What I could expect is the final product coming to our shores would have:
-ESC, EBD/ABS brakes
-traction control
-minimum of 2 airbags for the driver and front passenger
-other safety features not available in competitor models
at the price of the latest CRV, tyak na hotcake to. Kung sa engine naman pag uusapan ang VM motori ay one of the veteran companies in diesel engine design and supplier to other third party car manufacturers. A trying hard SF wanna be at such low price, Captiva might just end up captivating new buyers.
Hindi e... tinignan ko kung naka-fold nga yung 3rd seats pero when I opened the hatch at the back... lalagyan ng gamit yung nasa floor na dapat para sa 3rd row. Kaya nga impressed ako at least madami taguan ng gamit![]()
asian market 5 seater lang daw sabi ng s.a. sayang i need 7 seater for my kids
It's a five seater. We checked the trunk after the test-drive, and there's no provisions for a third row... and the rear end of the local version seems too short to accomodate one.
RE: transmission: my mistake, I think... I'll have to correct that on the review. It's a decent transmission, though acceleration is adequate rather than brisk.
-----
The Optra's horrible resale value stems from two things:
1. It's a Daewoo. People have bitter memories and lots of second and thirdhand horror stories about Daewoo reliability (both mechanical and service-wise).
2. Its reputation for a problematic and thirsty engine.
Even if the engine problems have been cured by reprogramming, initial word of mouth from the first batch of Optras has reinforced people's fears about Daewoo technology and has driven them away... cursing the Optra with rock-bottom resale prices.
----
The Captiva, though, is available in diesel. This fact should be enough to entice some people back to Chevrolet to look at it. And if horror stories don't start circulating after one year of sales, more people will jump on the bandwagon.

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
5 seater lang huh! Malaking BLUNDER sila. Malaking "come on" ang seven seater. Nakita ko sa Dubai 7 seater at medyo okay na rin cguro pagtyagaan kung attractive ang price. Ngayon alam natin na ayos ang maging pricing nito come October but if 5 seater lang, hwag nalang. Matuloyan talaga ito sa SF.
