Chevys problem isn't customer commitment but rather poor fuel economy and high prices of spare parts.

    two cons:

    - CASA who still thinks they're BMW
    - dirty fuel guinea pig test

All GM models made in or imported to Korea are badged as Daewoos, this is GM's domestic Korean brand just like what Holden is in Australia.
All of the GMDAT(GM Korea) vehicles are meant to be badged as Chevrolets for most of the markets, this explains why the concept versions of these vehicles are badged as Chevrolets.

I posted this a few times earlier... anyway here it is again, the Captiva is built on an updated version of GM's tried and tested GM Theta platform which it shares with the new Opel Antara.

The Captiva is sold in Australia/New Zealand as a Holden and as a Daewoo in Korea, in the other markets, its sold as a Chevy.
Currently the Equinox(Captivas older LWB brother) is the smallest Chevy in the US lineup, but since Canada has a bigger market for smaller vehicles compared to the US, there are plans to introduce the smaller Captiva there for the 2008 model year.

The Captiva is GMDAT's 1st model to be developed using GM's global platform. The other GMDAT models like the next Aveo and Optra will also be moved to GM global platforms.

ito na naman dami yata galit or i should say insecure sa chevy captiva heheheh...aga explain it very well since his previous post...yes gm built captiva in korea and brand it daewoo only in korea for domestic sales...i don't think this is rebadge daewoo and i don't think also koreans let thier brand name daewoo just removed in thier manufactured vehicle better example are hyundai ang kia all thier models are badge (not rebadge)hyundai and kia...if this is so then it will be ''daewoo captiva''...

Hi, im a newbie here. My Captiva will be delivered to me on Wednesday. 2 tulog na lang!

It has been more than a month of deliberation, comparo, ended up with the gorgeous Captiva. Whether others say it's a Daewoo, I don't care. For me, it's a Chevy alright. Can't even see a Daewoo lineage in it. Euro-styling, which that is actually the point of GM making this model, to penetrate Europe.

Any other satisfied Captiva owners here?

Ang downside lang talaga for me, there's no leather seat option. I guess I need to get in touch with Kelseat na. What do you think?

think about many times before you decide to buy.
check their after sales service, parts and resale value.
think about the lastest issue with GM.

    my two cents

The CRDI engine is 2.0 liter with VGT. Medyo maingay sa umpisa pero pag-uminit na tahimik na rin. SF's engine though bigger at 2.2L is much better in terms of fuel economy.

Pero kung mababa ang price baka magbago ang decision ng mga first time buyers.

For sure mas mura to kaysa sa Santa Fe at mas loaded to...

I think ang CRDI engine nito ay ilalabas din sa Optra very soon...
