Well, I don't mind having a slow sedan. In fact yung Optra ko noon talagang mabagal ang acceleration eh. Pero that's a big factor IMHO.

Kung may pera naman like ghost_recon, eh madali lang pabilisin ang Cruze ;)

I dont think its a big issue, the acceleration of the cruze. But as what Renzo said its vital for some buyers to consider overtaking power. Hindi naman kasi lahat ng tao kayang bumili ng GC and kayang mag mod ng mga sasakyan nila.

if some buyers doesn't like cruze's acceleration, marami naman options. andyan yong civic at mitsu lancer...

Point is, hindi yung porket may gusto ka at the same time may pera ka. Gagastusin mo agad. May pera yan si SG, kung alam mo lang ilan kotse niyan. It's just that, he's thinking what's the best decision. And, kakabili lang niyan e. Bili ulit ?

Car and Driver, Road & Track and Motor Trend tests are all "First Drives" and their 0 to 60 numbers in the 9 to 10 sec range are still estimates.

I'm not making an argument here but I will stand by my opinion that bigbigcar.com's 0 to 100kph test at 14.9 sec is unreliable.

The C&D report of 9 to 10 seconds is an opinion based on the HP and weight of the car and not a test result.

One more thing,

Hindi ginawa ang cruze para maging 2nd car lang or maging " cruising " car lang. Im sure it is made for every purpose, medyo lacking lang talaga sa acceleration which is quite a dismay for others. Ngayon, if others will claim it to be 10 seconds to 100 which is obviously not ( according to bigbigcars which I respect ) e, parang stir yun for the buyers. Hindi accurate kumbaga. Lie.

Car and Driver, Road & Track and Motor Trend's estimates or "opinions" are all within 1 sec of their actual 0 to 60 tests. Go compare any of their "First Drive" estimates with their actual test numbers and you'll find that they get that close.

To take bigbigcar's 14.9 sec number as realistic is saying that Car and Driver, Road & Track and Motor Trend will be wrong.

I am not debating with you if or not the Cruze 1.8L/AT is slow or fast.

I just want to know "what is the truth".

Is there test data out on the internet that supports or not the claim of bigbigcars.com that the Cruze's performance numbers to 100kph is closer to 15 seconds than to 10 seconds?

The manufacturer's claim of Chevy for the Cruze 1.8L A/T is 10.8 seconds for 0 to 100kph. But such manufacturer's claims has been proven "inaccurate" in the past.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if within a few months, there will be many people asking how to make their Cruze A/T faster closer to the performance of the M/T version if BBC's report is accurate.
