Was the 0 to 100kph run taken in both directions then averaged? 9-out-10, auto tranny cars should be tested with traction control off, in drive, in sport mode (if applicable) and brake-torqued plus full-throttle. This is how Car and Driver various other publications do it.
I agree that the Cruze isn't quick but 14.9sec to 100kph is absurd given its curb weight and horsepower/torque. It's much quicker than that. From and engineering standpoint, Bigcar's acceleration times don't add up if their test car were in perfect shape and proper techniques/instruments were used.
