It seems there is a series of posts regarding speed comparison between the cruze and other cars.

These are my personal views about it:

1. Before buying my cruze, I have an excel file of the possible car that I am buying. Price, engine displacement, accessories, features, colors, freebies, FC, maintenance, etc.
2. I test drove the ones na shortlisted.
3. Cruze was not even on my list until I drove my daughter to school at napadaan/bumalik/nag-park/tumingin/kinilatis in-and-out/test driven the cruze.
4. I have a very limited knowledge about speed, and the techy stuff that are being mentioned here. All I know, that I fell in love with the cruze and the ones in my shortlist were deleted.

I think what is important to me now is that - I am very happy with my cruze and I am so proud to OWN one.

Dati, my 1st consideration was the FC since I travel at least 120-130 kms a day (home-hatid school-office-sundo school-home route). Sabi ko mamumulubi ako sa gas pa lang.

When Chevy Pasig offered me a very good deal with my cruze, nabura na naman sa isipan ko yong concerned about FC kasi nga, "love at first sight" talaga.

Hindi ko pinagsisihan na Cruze ang binili ko. The way people look at our car makes me even prouder that I own one.

Based on reviews read, mukhang yung power to weight nga ng cruze ang penalty plus the long gearing.

Red Cruze FTW. Sana ma sustain lang talaga ng mga chevy dealers. Based on experiences of friends, ang sama talaga ng aftersales service.

As I have said before, they should have learned their lessons already afterall they have spent millions of dollars to come up with the Cruze.

Today, it is much easier to destroy them once again if THEY WILL NOT PUT THEIR ACTS together.

I think this is the same device used by other car magazines (like C magazine) to get performance data.

Nothing wrong with using a Vbox... However, bigcar's 14.9 sec 0 to 100kph time is suspect. Data from the web and magazines say otherwise.

Yep. Parang optra. The engine cannot suffice the weight of the body. Hence, the poor FC.

Maganda ang cruze, no doubts about it. If I had the extra cash, baka ipaswap ko pa yung FD for the TOTL cruze. :hysterical:

But then again, trauma na ako. Mahal ang maintenance ng optra, kawawa ako sa gas. Pero sa performance ( rektahan and comfort ) walang tanong tanong, panalo.

I don't get the negativity here. Everyone admits that in terms of power, cruze really is inferior compared to lancer and civic. In terms of the 15secs 100km/h, one site proves it wrong, and some other disproves it. So who will you believe? Well don't believe any of them, get a cruze and drive it yourself.

I didn't bought cruze because of speed alone, but because I love its overall package (especially the controls and interior, I feel like I'm driving a plane :D). And I didn't regret having one at all .

As for the usual problems I've read in this thread. . .

* aircon is great (just don't forget to press the AC button).
* no squeaking sound during reverse (all I hear is the sweet *ding* sound)

we have the same dealer, and I'm expecting I will have the same problem in the future. But then, let's just all support resident_evil na kalampagin TCCCI/Westgate. I'm sure this is already a high profile case na di nila pababayaan and try to resolve it ASAP. (tsaka di ko na nakikita unit mo dun. . . siguro malapit nang matapos. . . konting tiis na lang)

Wala na dun sa dealer bro. They brought it somewhere else. Told them it should be detailed before they return it to me. Might ask one of you guys to come with me to inspect. Told them they should let me use the Camaro while they repair my Cruze. They offered me the Optra Wagon. Hehe.

Can you list the website link to those other data you are referring to? It is kinda difficult to find performance data for the Cruze 1.8L A/T.

Manufacturer data says it's supposed to be 10.8 seconds but real world test by bigbigcars.com said a different thing.
