CRUZE pala talaga yung plates nyo kapag bago pa.. hehe Cool!
I hope they allow us to trade in with the VCDI at minimal cost. I have a blue LT but I want a little bit more power.
Hmm, hope these computations are right (not really good at math but should give me a good reason to go back to GM after the Optra onslaught):
Searching thru the net I found that the AUD (Australian Dollar) price of the diesel Cruze (6 speed A/T) is at AUD 29,990. Queried "29990 AUD to PHP" in Google and that translates to 1,174,497.93 pesos or roughly 1.2M. In the best of my abiltiies, I tried to run some ballpark comparison figures with the Sentra vis-a-vis my expected projections with the Cruze. The following is what comes up (said figure is based on my preferred downpayment amount and the corresponding monthly amortization, interest being excluded of course):
15958.28 + interest for 3 years
9574.97 + interest for 5 years
Fuel costs
6000 a month usual for Sentra (based on my personal consumption figures, roughly +1500 a week)
3000 a month usual for Cruze (based from figures I retrieved from Cruze Forums, with most giving a 6.4 li / 100km reading OR 15.63 km/li (which is roughly almost half of the 8km/li that my Sentra gives me)
For 3 years projection, gas consumption would be:
Sentra 216,000
Cruze 108,000
For 5 years projection, gas consumption would be:
Sentra 360,000
Cruze 180,000
In terms of maintenance costs, for 3 years:
Sentra 72,000 (with 2,000 pesos as average maintenance costs per 5,000 kms. - yep it's that cheap to maintain unless major parts are in due replacement like the timing chain - figure's based on personal figures as well)
Cruze 54,000 (with 3,000 pesos as average maintenance costs per 10,000 kms. - assuming it really indeed WENT that cheap because during the Optra days the average is at 4K, with prices rocketing even to 6K at times - HOPEFULLY the statements here and in other forums bear merits else, man, maintenance will hurt all over again!)
For 5 years projection, maintenance costs would be:
Sentra 120,000 (with 2,000 pesos as average maintenance costs per 5,000 kms.)
Cruze 90,000 (with 3,000 pesos as average maintenance costs per 10,000 kms.)
Total incurred costs for 3 years:
Sentra 288,000
Cruze 162,000
Total incurred costs for 5 years:
Sentra 480,000
Cruze 270,000
Now the problem is when the diesel variant will be released...
On the bright side of things though - I've got confirmation that it's laid out in the tables as to whether it will be released here or not. However there's no definite date or guarantee if it will be really released at all.
Just keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
ADD: Yep, value depreciation doesn't really matter to me so I didn't include it.![]()
thanks mga sir!
exterior
- gusto ko yung exterior ng cruze malaki sya tignan. compare sa iba like the civic.
interior
- ito yung isa sa mga nagustuhan ko din sa cruze. Parang euro na ang quality ng interior. and yung seats, may pag ka sporty.
Handling
- sharp handling. Although sasabihin ng iba torsion beam lang ang rear suspensio.. i really dont mind. for me the handling is great.
though medyo stiff, but for ok lang sa akin.
Engine
- not as strong compared sa civic. pero i think its enough.fuel consumption hindi ko pa na co-compute. hehe
hope this video help others na maconvince to get a Cruze. btw I love there setup..

[quote=tougefox;1510955]is it true na they change the suspension of the US version cruze?i read it somewhere..
/quote]
Yup. It's true. They used a cheaper suspension for Philippine (and other non-U.S.) version.
