Another sub-standard Chinese crap finds its way in the Phils. Have you guys seen the latest crash test done in Germany on these cars? They got 1 out 5 stars. At 60(?) kph head on, the whole front is a wreck as well as the passsenger cabin. The airbags are useless because the whole front caved in and will definitely kill the driver.

Yes, it looks good and its cheap. The suv looks like a rav4. But thats just about it. Worth the money? It depends. Is your life worth a few hundred thousand savings?

Mas marami pang delikado na kotse dyan na mabenta ngayon(L300 FB,Urvan,Hi Ace,etc.) kaysa sa Chery..

Anyway hindi yata dinala yung Chery A1 at A3 dahil narin mahal to at gagawing Chrysler cars to diba...

We're willing to give the chinese imports a chance and yet a lot here condemn and immediately dismiss the phuv for having substandard design and quality? Bakit, wala bang pag-asa na magakaroon ng improvement yung phuv in the future?

Anyways, lI'll wait and see if their quality improves. But till then, I wont let even a centavo of my money go to China (which is where most of your money will go if u buy them) for these deathtraps.

lets wait and see. Ika nga, lets give them a chance. Let the buying public judge. Pero comparing it with Geely, mas nagagandahan ako sa quality ng Chery.

Lets see..Will Chery Cowin LPG attract taxi operators?

*eggman, where will the service center be located?

    aargh is right.

ang bilis bilis natin "pagbigyan" ang Chery pero pagdating ng PHUV puro lambasting ang binagsak.

BTW 25K RMB lang ang QQ dito sa Shanghai, sabi nung Chinese kong colleague. I'm teaching a class here till the weekend. The Volkswagen Golf is only 100K RMB! that's 606,000 pesos!

Tinanong ko sa kanya magkano ang local Audi, pero di niya alam. Pero sa presyo ng Golf, baka 1M+ lang ang A6! They have a special China-only A6 here, A6L (long wheel base) pero 2.4L lang yung engine Di ko pa nasakyan yung A6 nila unfortunately. Puro Volkswagen Santana (gen2 Passat) ang taxi dito. Drat!

EDIT: I read the Autoblog posts linked from above. Look at this: crash test results for the Chery Amulet (Seat Toledo clone):

The damn thing is made out of recycled beer cans!!!

Know what.. I think I'll pass on that Chery. Even if it were 150K pesos. I'd rather buy a 1997 Mazda 323 for 150K pesos.

saw on BBC news, china just tied up with nigeria to mine their large open fields and hire cheap nigerian workers..

what the west was doing to the chinese centuries ago is now what china is doing to poor african countries..

the need for more steel is a need for china to produce and export cheap cars..

    --

the philippines just does not have this capability yet.. so in essence we are still importing steel, which is why the PHUV just won't click here..

the government just needs to remove customs taxes on chinese vehicles to provide cheap cars to the rest of Filipinos.. producing a filipino car just isn't possible..
