I was able to talk to an officer of the Hong kong Police. They said the Chinese people and the Motherland hate the Japanese and the Koreans. They dont trust these people...And then I ask him, how about Pinoys...no problem....friends daw.......naluha ako.....

i went to the showroom this afternoon. yung likod ng Tiggo may decal that says "New Concept Vehicle" hahahah.

I also asked the SA kung based yung QQ sa Chevrolet Spark, he answered na "sir european design po yan!" hehehe

I admit, I was impressed with the Eastar.

And it's true, in the one week I was there isa lang nakita kong Chery.

Apparently the car to buy in Shanghai at least is the VW Golf. 100,000 RMB or 606,000 pesos.

The Chery QQ can be had for 25,000 RMB or 150,000 pesos pero linalangaw siya. Pero outside Shanghai (in other cities and in the countryside) bentang benta ang Chery QQ.

Of course yung 25,000 RMB na Chery is entry-level. Walang airbags or anything.
Usually GM and volkswagen ang marami dun.

There are different parts in China. China's so big.

Recently, we were at the Chery launch... Baka raw maging P295,000 ang QQ.

Baka lang ah. They're still not sure.

QQ is cheap, yes. And perhaps since cheap ang price baka cheap din ang maging trato ng mga Pinoy dito. It depends on you.

There are many skooters there that are Chinese...

295K na QQ?Most likely yan yung walang airbags at ABS...

that's why we shoud be happy kasi mga kababayan natin makaka-afford na ng sariling tsikot

China has more potential than Japan or Korea. sa laki ba naman ng land area, malaki din mine field nila ng metal to be used sa cars. sa Japan siksikan na dun. they have to reclaim land just to built an airport. parang singapore lang yun, intellectual rights na lang ang binabayaran mo premium sa price ng cars nila.

let's face it, japan, korea and even our very own PHUv dream no match sa future Chinese cars. they have all the resources and even the cheapest and the biggest manpower.

Hindi pa daw yun yung 2.0. Wala pa daw silang dinadala na 2.0 dito.

sabi pa sakin bababa daw yung prices ng cars nila in the next few months.

Also sabi din sakin na mukhang mercedes benz yung loob ng A5 which made me laugh heheheh.

    In fairness, nagandahan ako Eastar.

Yung tiggo, cowin, qq pangit yung tunog pag sinasara yung door.

I find the tires of Tiggo really ugly.. parang hindi sha fit sa design..

Nothing for design or having an intent of buying a good design.

A diff Chinese car comp w/ a diff strategy would work.

Pero sa ngayon, the crap-quality of Chinese cars is currently at the level of *cheapshit*. Thus, sa ngayon, super cheap car-pricing = super cheapshit quality

Seriously though, let us not forget ladies and gentlemen that it took a decade before Hyundai can get to world-class quality levels (ie. Veracruz). It took years for them to get to where they are now...........and the same will apply to the Chinese auto brands. We're just not sure as to how fast they can improve.

So as of year 2007, THE CHINESE AUTO BRANDS ARE NOT THERE YET.

These China cars have a LONG way to go.

The problem with Korean cars or Japanese cars is that how can they can possibly maintain their lead in Asia, let say in the next 20 years?
For the meantime, I saw it in BBC or CNBC, GM is back as the number 1 automaker in the world.

China and India, members of the so-called emerging nations of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China), are already flexing their muscles in the global auto industry. With a very huge population-China, 1.3billion; India 1Billion- there is a market for both local and foreign marque vehicles. At the same time, the nationalistic tendencies of these countries (the communist politburo/ or the Chinese hate the Koreans and Japanese situation due to indoctrination; India for years have socialist-nationalist inclinations--I think -7-Up was a victim of it) assure their local auto makers a definite and steady market.

China is just starting with chery, foton, geely and nexus. India with here Maruti-Udyog and Tata. In 5-10 years after China has secured its status as the second biggest economy in the world ( in 2-4 years Germany will be dislodged by China as the 3rd biggest economy.

With a 1 trillion dollar reserves, if China cannot beat their auto rivals--they will buy them. Look what happen to IBM (owned by China's Lenovo) and RCA/Thomson (owned by China's TCL).

Sinimulan na. Binili na ang Sangyong by a Nanjing Auto Co of China and ang Daewoo bus/truck unit was bought by TATA ng India.

Lemon ang Chery ngayon. Baka cherry sa susunod.

China’s ‘Chery’ automobile breaks into RP market
    By Conrado M. Diaz Jr.
Monday, July 23, 2007 Chery Automobile Co. Ltd., one of China’s top car assemblers, has entered the Philippine market with the launch of five new car models that boast of European design and technology at highly-competitive prices.
At the launch Friday night of the new Chery line ranging from compact sedans to multi-purpose vehicles, Iseway Motors Phils. Inc. president Raymond Tumao said the company is “deeply committed to providing an economical way of transportation and customer satisfaction for Filipinos.”
“This is why we chose to bring Chery automobiles in the Philippines,” he added.
Iseway is the sole authorized service provider of Serrano Enterprises Ltd., the exclusive distributor of the Chery auto line in the Philippines and wholly-owned by Hong Kong-listed Simsen International Corp. Ltd.
Established in 1997, Chery Automobile became one of the fastest-growing car companies in the Asia Pacific region as its array of low cost, high quality cars boosted sales, making it one of the top 10 domestic auto manufacturers in China.
Chery automobiles are currently sold in more than 30 countries worldwide, including the US and Europe, with a global network of more than 30 distributors and 100 sales and service centers. In 2005, Chery more than doubled its sales volume to 189,000 units and exported 18,000 cars overseas, leading the field in the shipment of locally-made cars.
In the Philippines, Iseway has set up its headquarters and showroom at the Oppen Bldg. along Sen. G. Puyat Ave. in Makati City. The models now locally available are the QQ3 compact sedan, awarded as the best quality compact car in China in 2004; the A5, an executive class sedan; the Tiggo SUV; the environment-friendly Cowin sedan; and the Crossover, a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle.
The compact 0.8-liter QQ3 will sell for only P339,000 for the manual transmission type (P389,000 for automatic); the 1.6-L Cowin, which can run on LPG, goes for P479,000; the 1.6-L A5 for P589,000; the 1.6-L Tiggo for P728,000; and the 2.0-L Crossover (V5) for P858,000.
Chery has collaborated with the world’s top design and engineering firms that include Bertone and Pininfarina, the Italian vehicle designers of Ferrari and Lamborghini, giving the cars the distinct European elegance and sophistication.
For the engines, AVL of Austria has been working on Chery’s new line of cars, including one with turbodiesel, direct fuel injection and aluminum alloy cylinder blocks/heads; Germany’s Bosch is helping Chery design modern transmissions; racing car chassis design export Lotus Engineering is aiding in car design and quality; while Ricardo Consulting Engineers is developing a hybrid powertrain for Chery to become China’s first hybrid vehicle.
Tumao said their dedicated service teams will provide the after-sales maintenance to guarantee the sustainability and functionality of Chery vehicles. “Providing service beyond satisfaction is our means in achieving our goal of attaining a 20 percent market share within two years.”

IBM is not owned by Lenovo. IBM sold their PC business to Lenovo. These are two, very different things. IBM's PC business only contributed 10% of their revenue and was a loss-leader.

TCL meanwhile only is the world's largest tube TV manufacturer. How many of you are still planning to buy a tube TV?

I want to know the reliability... eto lang gusto ko!

If so, I may want to buy one... Tipid kasi sa gasolina eh... Tahimik sya at malakas ang aircon... Test drive kami next week.

The QQ is cute. I dont like the rear. I am not a conscious person with the brand. I like the Chery because its cheap and its economical. It also passed the EURO IV as well. The safety issue doesnt bother me. I ride my bike all the time with all the buses around in the city, I go 70+ kmh in the downhill. In the QQ, I will limit myself at 80kph. Give it a speed limiter if possible. Strictly for city and traffic and not for expressways.

The biege interior looks cheap but the black color looks great. The seats are comfy, plush. The finish of the car isnt great. The boot space is small, but its really good already to fit my grocery, vital signs kit, and school bag. The parts are very very very very cheap. Take not, wipers - 100 pesos, windshield - 2000 pesos, battery - 900 pesos. The 3 years/100K km will cover the warranty. Parang divisoria eh...

Please dont look at me as a pro-Chery. I am a Mitsubishi fanatic. Ask the Sta. Fe owners especially oldblue and you are rest assured that I am no SA.

All I need to know is the reliability of the car. I hope meron silang endurance test up to 10,000km non-stop all around Pinas.

Btw, the barest QQ is 295,000.

At 295k, that's a different story... ...I don't think any of us will know until it's been tested on local roads.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
