Thanks Egan, it now occurred to me that a/t's are often referred to as fully automatics, like the washing machine.

AT or MT..
(Conventional AT/CVT/DCT)
Both MT/AT...
Saka yung driving condition(s)..

December 16th, 2018 10:28 AM #65i'm not so comfortable with AT.
the car sometimes does something i do not want it to do, e.g., shift up or down.
also, i seem to lose the engine brake safety feature.
third, i feel the car does not "respond fast enough".
but that's me.

^^^ I drive my CVT ride on the expressway every day. It’s not boring to drive and it is quite responsive. My previous DCT ride is even more responsive.

December 17th, 2018 07:20 AM #67Why do they say boring yung AT sa highways? Halos Nakababad ka pa rin naman sa highest gear when cruising using MT.

December 17th, 2018 08:11 AM #68Iove my ATs.
Fast shifting.... A manual cant hope to compete against the shift speed.
responsive shifting (i. E. downshift when i want them to etc)
manual over ride with paddle shifters if im in the mood for spirited driving or just for complete control of the engine rpm range
Comfortable in traffic
Really pairs well with the semi autonomous driving modes of my cars (i. E. Adaptive cruise control, self parking etc).
Fuel efficiency and all around stress reliever given our traffic situation.
Id think of getting a manual if its a sports car or an exotic.
But other than that they are being relagated to the econoboxes or the entry level versions of certain PPVs and Vans.

December 17th, 2018 08:59 AM #69These are nice things of course, but I don't want to "spoil" myself with too many conveniences.
--That's just me.
We stopped buying upper tier models and brands years ago. Not because we couldn't afford it, but after hands on comparison (through actual ownership), we got where we needed to go just the same. Sa viewpoint kasi namin, vehicles are assets, but not investments. If a vehicle's maintenance expense outweighs the mobility/security derived from owning it, we don't consider it a convenience anymore.
BTW, I drove a "junker" even up to the end of my residency. I never felt ashamed to be seen in it

What are semi-automatic trannies exactly? I understand these are the trannies used by f1 cars.
Are these type of transmissions standard equipment in some carmakes?
do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do
Dati kasi, Sojitz Corp ang distributor ng Geely locally, ngayon Geely Motor Philippines Corp....
