btw, my college friend is also looking pla for a car.. she wants the picanto 1.0 dlx.. pero she's in dilemma.. she asked me which is a wiser move.. buying a brand new picanto or a 1-3 yr old sedan (optra/lynx)?.. i dint know what to tell her.. kasi personally i can work on both ways.. lol

from an addicts point of view, what you guys think?

If you will just use the car as an appliance (pampasok sa school, etc.) and have no intention of forming any bond with it, ok na ang brand new. Lalo na kung walang alam at walang balak matuto sa sasakyan.

Btw, 1.1 ang Picanto.

if ur friend is on a budget regarding sa gas consumption and city driving use, then go for the picanto.. matipid yan sa gas at madali pa i-drive sa masisikip na road.. and bagay sa mga girls..

but if u like a spacious car, where u can sit around 4 adults + baggage, then go for a regular sedan like what u've said..

Siyempre hindi bago yung sasakyan. Ok lang ba sa kanya ang nagpupunta sa talyer or nag-aayos ng sasakyan? This not only consumes $$$, it can also consume time.

May ibang tao kasi, kasisimple ng problema sa sasakyan feeling end of the world na (e.g. my mom). Na-flat lang ang battery gusto na sipain yung sasakyan.

I have no problems working on cars to a certain degree (parang talyer na itong bahay namin). I don't know about your friend.

pag brand new po ba, wala kang gagastusin sa mga scheduled service ng kasa? and if may weird na ngyayari tas pinadala mo sa casa, aayusin nila yun at papalitan ang kung anu man for free within 3 yrs/ 100000km whichever comes first period? LOL

If she's not really into cars, the Picanto would be one of her bset options. Kasi if she get's a second-hand car and she's not really into cars, baka ma-discourage sa sa cars. Gets?

nakadecide na po.. my mom si getting my brother a mazda 3.. instead of the long-planned galant 99 v6 a/t.. may nagrent kc sa condo namin for 1 yr kaya mababawasan ang monthly payments ng mom ko. hehe. intay na lng ng bank approval then oks na.

as for me, may nahanap na kaming buyer for xwind.. sa sabado ata bayaran.. what car for me? havent decided yet bahala na.. mom knows i like the spark.. kaso baka itaboy ako ng buong tsikot if i ever made that decision saying i made a stupid choice..

Kapag bago, you still have to spend for maintenance. Unless you get a vehicle with free maintenance (e.g. Suzuki).

The warranty is only for defects in the vehicle. Read the fine print, maraming hindi covered ng warranty. And making a claim can make your BP shoot up, so just pray that the car you will get will not have any issues.

That is why I prefer used cars. They are cheaper, and if there is a problem, I can fix or have it fixed immediately. Wala nang mga paper work, investigation, etc. ng casa (siyempre they won't give up without a fight).
