February 21st, 2020 09:18 AM #51That's a wrong notion po. It does not apply to all. remember that some of the models you mentioned have the same eng for the 4x2 and 4x4. The Hilux and the Dmax are the only exception as their 4x4 models have higher eng displacement while the rest have the same engine. These ute's are also part time 4WD's and unless you engage their 4WD mode, they are running 4x2 most of the time. The weight difference between a same model brand 4x2 vs 4x4 is not that significant. parang isang tao lang kung sakali. These utes are NOT fulltime all-wheel drive also (where fuel consumption is an issue). Between the Hilux and the Navarra, the Hilux probably has lesser creature comforts but far capable when it comes to loading capacity (HIlux with rear leafsprings vs the Navarra's rear coils) and real-world 4WD use. On paper, the Navarra wins. But longterm use will somehow see the Hilux dominate this segment because of enormous aftersales support and aftermarket upgrades

February 21st, 2020 02:32 PM #52Is the Toyota Hilux Conquest 2.4 belt drive or chain drive ?
Kasi po yung bagong Strada na 4N15 ang engine ay naka chain drive na,so if yung
Hilux G 2.4 at Conquest 2.4 ay belt drive pa rin, siguro mas Strada na ang pipiliin ko.

February 21st, 2020 04:25 PM #58One of the things I also consider is the looks, how would it look 5-10 years from now. I think the Conquest looks classic and would still look good after 5 years.
I don't really feel the need of a 4x4.
THIS! On my Nissan Sylphy, mas comfortable ang back seat.
Nothing outrageous offers as of the moment. Eto pa lang so far:
Nissan Navara VL 4x4 AT
P35k Down
P33,944/mo (60 mos)
- Nissan Cap
- Rain Visor
- Solar Guard/3m Tint
- Full Tank Diesel
- FREE LTO registration
- FREE Matting
- FREE EWB (not sure if EWB or EWD as in early warning device)
- FREE Air Freshener
- FREE Bedliner
- FREE TPL
- FREE Comprehensive Insurance
- FREE Chattel Mortgage
- FREE Tools
Personally not really worth the difference kung mag Bank Pull Out ako which is at 20% downpayment at 34.13% interest, around P26k monthly for 60 years.
Medyo matakaw on my perspective, although my only point of comparison is my manual trans Nissan Sylphy which runs at 11-12kpl at 15-17kph. If it's at 11.24kpl at 19kph, hmmm I think it sounds reasonable pala, so around 10-10.5kpl at 15-17kph.
15-17kph is my daily average speed.

February 21st, 2020 04:37 PM #59Huh? You're right on this. Never really bothered double checking the curb weight. Checking the Navara 4x4 VL AT vs 4x2 EL Calibre AT, around 2 medium sized adult din ang difference pero I think that's minimal pa din.
As for aftermarket sales and support, dalawa yung Nissan dealership namin dito with different ownerships while Toyota as 4 Casas (2 Dealerships, 1 upcoming dealership, and 1 body and paint casa) pero iisa lang may-ari so I guess we won't benefit with the competition if i go with Toyota. Ang dami ding Navara dito sa amin compared to Hilux, so I would assume dadami na rin ang parts and services.
