    1. Both are good cars.
    2. Both fuel efficient and powered by sufficiently powered diesel engines.
    3. Both come with good toys, SF3 is 3rd gen already so expect more high tech gadgetry.
    4. Monty is practically same body and engine (except VGT was added later on) from first release to present, this makes it easier to get spare parts.
    5. I have driven both, SF is more car-like because it's crossover, while I am more confident driving Monty in rough roads and flood prone areas.
    6. You choose any one of these cars, you will be happy with it.

Good luck with your test drive and selection.
Thanks! This comment is also good!

This is not theoretical, but in reality. Yes, I'm not a book lover kasi engineer ako. I'm inclined to results than theoretical explanations.

I have driven one. Matipid din kapag highway.
Pero i have a test for you: Reach 180 with only you as the passenger and do the "cone test" (overtake-an mo lahat ng kotse by swerving left and right)
Second, intentionally drift in a corner at 60 kph. Just pull the handbrake and turn the wheel hard.
Third, attack a negative banked curve at 90kph. Meron sa C5 road extension.
Why am i asking you to do this? Its for you to find out. Yes the monty has a lot of body roll. TGP also pointed it out

    To TS:
If you want better NVH, comfort, interior quality, more space(?), more toys, easier to drive around corners, better handling, a looker; then get the SF.
You will be breaking necks when you pass by.

If you want a hauler, pang harabas, better flood and offroad capabilities, not so good NVH (unless you deaden all doors, platform, dashboard pero ok naman), longer lasting suspensions(?), then get the montero sport.

Just get the car that suits your needs and the one which you will enjoy driving everyday
    Thanks!

Sir, could you elaborate on this? What are these after treatment devices and diesel modules? Thanks. Cheers.

    To the TS naman.
I own a monty, yung may namumulang gt-v. First time to have a diesel vehicle. And yes maingay at mausok ito. (Siguro dahil laging babad ang monty ko sa stop-and-go traffic) However, engine noise is barely noticeable when your inside. During the early months nagiging mausok na, however na lessen ung smoke when I changed my fuel to unioil. They say it's because of unioil's diesel being a euro IV compliant. Well, as long as it doesn't make my monty mausok, I'm fine with that. I did also add an oil catch can, which I have to check pa.
I have also checked on sta. fe, and yeah gadgetry pa lang bow na ako and maganda din ang style. Pero I have to choose my monty, kung pumapasok ka sa binabahang unibersidad ng pilipinas, alam nyo na yan ang magandang desisyon. After all, you can have after market devices for those gadgets that were being offered in SF. The choice will always depend on your own preference.
Thanks sa input. I do also have Diesel Innova 2010 model. It has a very good performance, the engine noise is less inside about sa usok, ok yun sa innova, so far 'til now ok pa sya compare sa nakikita ko sa MS, yun ang isa a ayaw ko sa MS mabilis magkaron ng itim na usok but i think its just a matter of maintenance pero kahit sino nakakabagabag kapag may nakikita kang ganun.

To all... All your inputs are well appreciated!

What you do kumag sa discipline namin before you design sa software is you do field investigation at madaming areas yan kaya capital intensive.

But im surprised, you know how to play the game of debate. I purposely replied on of context to see how you would respond.
Assessing it, mukang hanggang dyan ka lang. Negating the other side without asserting your point.

Why would i answer this :
This question is directed to Mr. Arsen, not mine. But if you want me to answer this, the accent CRDi consumes less fuel than the Montero Sport in econo run. Do i still need to assert my point and give you actual data results? Sabi mo kasi Que econo-run yan o 4x4 offroad
THIS NEGATES YOUR CLAIM IDIOT ENGINEER. I ONLY NEED TO PRESENT ONE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE TO FALSIFY YOUR CLAIM.

Now lets see how you would answer.

Pati ikaw out of context din pinagpipilitan mong inhinyero ka tapos ubod naman pala sa walang alam sa software applications tsk tsk tsk....
Btw kumag engineer, I used to work as an IC designer. Thats my field. I intensively use software applications.

And baka magtaka ka bakit din kita tinawag na idiot, I quote what you said before : Idiot ka rin pala bilang engineer!
I didnt say this, but you purposely admitted that you are an idiot as well.

    To TS :
Sana makatulong yung payo ko sayo before. Just choose wisely the car that suits your needs. Update mo kami sir/mam kung ano napili mo
Excuse us, specially me, in making side comments Alam ko nagiging troll din ako sa thread na ito pero this would be the last time that i would feed the dumber troll.

*kurtsm i saw a sta. fe during the shanghai car show... isa sa mga entertainment nila ay pinadaan nila yung sta. fe sa murky waters... di ko lang alam kung anong variant kung gas or diesel

kung pang baha tbz na among it's league

kung sta fe v explore sa baha... sta fe na but then again i would never sacrifice a 2.5m car fording our flooded street
