One thing I dont like about the "3" is that its 1.6 engine cannot seem to take higher octane rating fuel like Shell's Velocity, Petron's XCS, Caltex's Blaze, etc.... Use only regular unleaded fuel.
Wag naman...ha ha ha...Originally Posted by miLes

Caltex's Blaze? I am not using Caltex for a while now, pero akala ko Petron ang Blaze...baka nagkakamali ako.Originally Posted by number001
All mz3 engines aren't recommended to use our country's above 93 Octane unleaded gas. (Per the Asian and EU Manual, not the NAmerican manual)(Some clubmazda3 members are on Velocity, I believe.) But it's not the case outside our country.

di ba mas ok nga if ganun ang case for mz3 coz mas mura unleaded? :=)
This probably is probably due to two things... 1 is that the manual recommends only up to 93. And the other is that incident where a mz3 owner's engine was full of crud from using XCS...because of all that additive in XCS that makes it the preferred fuel alternative to the older engines that came out before unleaded fuels came out. (technically, all our fuels are unleaded already...they differ in octane and additives present.)Originally Posted by number001
Sa US, the mazda3 drag car uses 100 Octane, and most boosted 3's there use 100 Octane when they dyno above 20psi.
Btw, the fuel restrictions are for the Mazda 1.6li only. The 2.0li "R" can handle all types of fuel octane.
