ang advantage ng USDM & CHN-DM ay: (malamang lang he he).
    *Side Curtain airbags?

Actually, C! already has numbers for the Mazda3 2.0R (9.2 - 9.3) and the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 (10.2... but this was back in 2003).

There are no local numbers for the Civic, which is a shame. The closest available source for Civic 2.0 (155hp version) numbers is the Temple of VTEC, Asia (asia.vtec.net), which has box-certified runs of between 8.5-8.8 (8.6 average, AFAIK) for previous model... but since the powertrain is unchanged, it should be the same... and at 7.8 or so for the current MT.

Take note, the only way to be absolutely sure is for the runs to be done in the same manner, with the same driver. SInce these are FWD... and automatics, to boot, launch technique is very important for best times.

For example, in the latest test by C! Magazine, the Mazda recorded a leisurely 12-13 second 0-100 time in a group comparison with the Volvo S40 and the Focus. This is because, in deference to the transmissions, all three seem to have been granny launched.

The other times (10.2 - Altis, 9.3 - Mazda3 2.0R, 8.6 - Civic 2.0) were likely obtained by torque-braking. (A technique where you load up the transmission before letting off the brakes) At least, according to the article about the Altis, that's apparently what they do in the impromptu drag race with the Lynx RS.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

hi Niky, bukod cguro sa acceleration times i want to see Dyno charts. so at least proven na yung Lighter and bloated HP rating ng 1.8G altis is revealed in its acceleration time. let the Civic in. asan na kasi yung 5MT ng Mazda 3 dyan?

It would be interesting but who would do it? Considering the Philippines is the only place in the world where the engine makes 145hp...

Anyway, I do believe the huge deficit should show up when either C! or Topgear (although TG often doesn't publish acceleration ratings) compares the new Honda 1.8 against the Toyota 1.8 and the Focus 1.8.

oo nga eh ang kapal ng TMPI, samantalang sa US eh ang rating nyan after using the SAE /Aug2005 HP measurement method eh mga 124hp lang yan 1.8VVTi na yan.....

is it true that insurance policy of darker color units are more expensive than the light colored units?
